My new workstation...

I know, another thread about workstations. I just hooked up 2 new monitors to give me 4 x 19". The more I use this, the more I think that 2 monitors wasn't nearly enough.

I've seen lots of people running 2 x 25"+, but not many running 4. Anyone else got 4 going?

I think I'd rather just add another 24 inch to mine...

The problem I'd personally have with 19inch monitors is 1050 or so height in resolution... I have 1200 with my 24 inch monitor and 1950 across... When I work on large files or spreadsheets I can have the entire thing in one window. Having it cross into another is not so swell... Though when I had used 3 19's I didn't mind it so much.. It is like you'd said, once you do it bigger, you don't want to go back and can't understand how you did it the way you did.

Adultnet 10-22-2006 09:12 PM

Yeah, ask anyone with multiple monitors. Think about how many times you are switching back and forth between windows. With multiple monitors theres no need for switching and can just look left, look right, etc.

cranki 10-22-2006 09:50 PM

your screens look a little blurry

Yeah I see what you're sayin. I don't really have the need to do those types of things, so this is ideal for me.

i always wanted to have multiple monitors, but i couldn't stand it not being RIGHT infront of me... i put my monitor off to the side a bit, i spazzed out and had to put it DIRECTLY infront of me

It's just one PC: Core 2 Duo E6300, Asus p5b Deluxe, 2GB RAM. I don't do any rendering or encoding so I don't need multiple towers.

I just have two video cards hooked up. Geforce 6800xt X2. They both have one Digital and one Analog output, so 4 outputs total.

very nice, but does your neck start hurting when you goto view a different monitor? If you had to do it alot back and forth I could see that becoming a problem.
