School bus driver fired for obscene gesture to Bush wants job back

LOS ANGELES (AFP) - A schoolbus driver who was fired for allegedly making an obscene gesture to President George W. Bush during a visit to Seattle is demanding her job back, media reports said.

The King County Journal reported that the 43-year-old female driver was sacked in September for giving Bush the finger when his presidential motorcade passed her bus during a visit in June.

The driver, who has not been identified, landed in hot water after she was reported to the school district by Republican Congressman Dave Reichert, who was accompanying Bush at the time.

The paper said the woman had filed a grievance seeking re-instatement.

A statement from the the Issaquah School District meanwhile said the bus driver had been sacked for making the gesture in front of children.

"This incident has to do with the responsibility of an employee who is supervising students to act professionally and serve as a role model for appropriate behavior," the district superintendent said.

haha good luck to her, doubt she'll win.

luvlyn 11-03-2006 05:34 AM

too bad doing it in wrong situation! ^_^\/

KingK7 11-03-2006 05:37 AM

She should be shot for being a stupid cvnt.
She can hate the president on her own time.

Scott McD 11-03-2006 05:41 AM

She's a dumb bitch.

Hope she doesn't get her job back...

Cassie 11-03-2006 06:02 AM

someone took freedom of expression too far.

bopha 11-03-2006 06:07 AM

Freedom of expression is one thing. I hate people who do that stuff in front of kids. This story is misleading. People actually have been fired for having anti Bush bumper stickers on their cars. She should not get her job back.

samsam 11-03-2006 06:30 AM

read it carefully, theyre saying she was sacked for making the gesture in front of children.

that means its okay to make obsense gestures to bust just not in front of children. i like it!

DjSap 11-03-2006 07:51 AM

somebody should just kill her...she is a worthelss piece of shit that doesnt deserve to live...

Tom_PM 11-03-2006 08:23 AM

Did a child complain that they saw the gesture though?
Imagine sitting in the drivers seat of a bus, do you think you'd be able to hold up 1 finger without the kids in the back seeing it? I bet you couldddddddd.. lol

Thats irrelevant... like saying the driver can pull out his penis and pee in a cup... kids 'probably' wont see that either. :upsidedow

directfiesta 11-03-2006 08:26 AM

what a bad influence on the kids ... a bus driver on top of that...

Exclusive video of the act

NinjaSteve 11-03-2006 08:32 AM

bad influence!

Tom_PM 11-03-2006 08:34 AM

Yes it's irrelevant to "acting professionally". However, how many professionals are "acting professionally" 100% of the time on their job? They never pick their nose, never give someone the finger, never say a swear word, never anything unprofessional? I'd say damn low :)

I recall the vice president of the united states telling a senator to go fuck himself on the senate floor... hehehe.

So I would say that if they want to claim that any bus driver in their district being reported by any citizen as having given the finger will be fired, then I can accept it.

However I'd bet you a quarter that no bus driver in their district since time began was ever fired for the same thing prior to this incident. :)

1. She is a stupid useless cunt.

2. She deserves the right to do such things to prove she is a stupid useless cunt.

notabook 11-04-2006 06:41 PM

What a whorebag. I don't like Shrub anymore than the next logical American but you have no right to act like an ass in front of kids like that and expect to keep your job. Use common sense next time guh.

Kimo 11-04-2006 08:36 PM

ah, so i guess there was kids on the bus eh

i live in seattle... what i heard on the news was that it was a long motorcade that brought traffic to a complete stop and in one of the cars was Bush and the governor. the driver flipped off the motorcade, the governor had someone contact the issaquah school district to alert them to it... the school district terminated the drivers employment for what most seem to agree is very innapropriate and unprofessional behavior for someone employed by the school district.

your arguments are silly and dumb. what other people do has absolutely nothing to do with what happened and the fact that others witnessed the behavior which is against the terms of their employment. you dont really have a problem with what happened... you have a problem with bush and authority. the firing incident however, centers on what actually happened... not whether or not you feel the government is going to send men in black to kick in your door at any moment and take you out into the forest and rape you.

sickkittens 11-04-2006 08:53 PM

Is it just me or did she get fired because of the publicity? I remember janitors fighting students and doing other stupid shit in my school and only getting suspended for a short period of time.

Pleasurepays 11-04-2006 08:59 PM

the news was that she was fired. there was no publicity before it happened.

JaneB 11-04-2006 11:20 PM

Well I think that if you have children on your bus, you should not be flipping people off. The bus driver needed to use common sense and set an example for these kids.

spanky part 2 11-04-2006 11:38 PM

As long as she had on hand on the wheel, and the kids weren't in danger, good for her. Like I tell my son, you can say anything you want in this country, but know there are some people who might not like it. Decide for yourself if saying it is worth the grief.

The thought police are everywhere nowadays.

I just shook the hand of the republican in my state running for Gov. at a function tonight. I looked him in the eye and said, " I'll shake your hand, but there is no fucking way I would ever vote for you or any republican." Man it made my day, as I was surrounded by staunch republicans at the time, and there were open mouths and nothing being said. Priceless.

Manowar 11-05-2006 03:21 AM

commie bitch LOL

VoteForPedro 11-05-2006 03:35 AM

I was there. She was just saying that he was number 1.

At my school a teacher slammed a student's head into his desk, breaking out one or more of his teeth. She got a pay raise not long after that.

She would have been fired for giving another driver the finger if it had been reported. How stupid can you be, to flip off the President, while you are driving around a bus full of kids? And think, somebody's kids lives are in the hands of this moron!

Never worry about that, as my accountant used to be an auditor. At least I have enough nads to tell my convictions to the other side, face to face. Most people just talk shit when they have like minds around.

Argoz 11-05-2006 08:16 AM

Don't touch the President blablablablalbalbalblabl... BRAINWASHING!

rodney25 11-05-2006 08:18 AM

My gawd, she's lucky she did not get a capital punishment for that act!

SilentKnight 11-05-2006 08:19 AM

Firing her was a harsh, knee-jerk move on the part of the school officials. There are other forms of disciplinary action they could have taken instead of terminating her employment and taking away her livelihood.

So the kids saw their bus driver giving Bush the finger - big fucking deal. Its hardly corrupting their little minds...given the onslaught of stuff they see on TV on a daily basis.

Classic over-reaction.

Here is a tip. Unless they have like minds, they don't give a shit what your convictions are. If they had all started telling you their convictions would you have given a shit? :winkwink:

Actually I do listen, that's what a liberal does. Listens the facts, and makes a decision based on FACTS. Conservatives just make decisions based on following what they are told, and live their lives in fear of everything. Terrorism, gay marriage, porn, yikes be afraid.
