School bus driver fired for obscene gesture to Bush wants job back
LOS ANGELES (AFP) - A schoolbus driver who was fired for allegedly making an obscene gesture to President George W. Bush during a visit to Seattle is demanding her job back, media reports said. The King County Journal reported that the 43-year-old female driver was sacked in September for giving Bush the finger when his presidential motorcade passed her bus during a visit in June. The driver, who has not been identified, landed in hot water after she was reported to the school district by Republican Congressman Dave Reichert, who was accompanying Bush at the time. The paper said the woman had filed a grievance seeking re-instatement. A statement from the the Issaquah School District meanwhile said the bus driver had been sacked for making the gesture in front of children. "This incident has to do with the responsibility of an employee who is supervising students to act professionally and serve as a role model for appropriate behavior," the district superintendent said. http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20061103...h_061103015341 |
haha good luck to her, doubt she'll win.
|
too bad doing it in wrong situation! ^_^\/
|
She should be shot for being a stupid cvnt.
She can hate the president on her own time. |
She's a dumb bitch.
Hope she doesn't get her job back... |
someone took freedom of expression too far.
|
Freedom of expression is one thing. I hate people who do that stuff in front of kids. This story is misleading. People actually have been fired for having anti Bush bumper stickers on their cars. She should not get her job back.
|
read it carefully, theyre saying she was sacked for making the gesture in front of children.
that means its okay to make obsense gestures to bust just not in front of children. i like it! |
somebody should just kill her...she is a worthelss piece of shit that doesnt deserve to live...
|
Did a child complain that they saw the gesture though?
Imagine sitting in the drivers seat of a bus, do you think you'd be able to hold up 1 finger without the kids in the back seeing it? I bet you couldddddddd.. lol |

bad influence!

Yes it's irrelevant to "acting professionally". However, how many professionals are "acting professionally" 100% of the time on their job? They never pick their nose, never give someone the finger, never say a swear word, never anything unprofessional? I'd say damn low :)
I recall the vice president of the united states telling a senator to go fuck himself on the senate floor... hehehe. So I would say that if they want to claim that any bus driver in their district being reported by any citizen as having given the finger will be fired, then I can accept it. However I'd bet you a quarter that no bus driver in their district since time began was ever fired for the same thing prior to this incident. :) |

1. She is a stupid useless cunt.
2. She deserves the right to do such things to prove she is a stupid useless cunt. |
What a whorebag. I don't like Shrub anymore than the next logical American but you have no right to act like an ass in front of kids like that and expect to keep your job. Use common sense next time guh.
|
ah, so i guess there was kids on the bus eh

your arguments are silly and dumb. what other people do has absolutely nothing to do with what happened and the fact that others witnessed the behavior which is against the terms of their employment. you dont really have a problem with what happened... you have a problem with bush and authority. the firing incident however, centers on what actually happened... not whether or not you feel the government is going to send men in black to kick in your door at any moment and take you out into the forest and rape you. |
Is it just me or did she get fired because of the publicity? I remember janitors fighting students and doing other stupid shit in my school and only getting suspended for a short period of time.
|
the news was that she was fired. there was no publicity before it happened.
|
Well I think that if you have children on your bus, you should not be flipping people off. The bus driver needed to use common sense and set an example for these kids.
|
As long as she had on hand on the wheel, and the kids weren't in danger, good for her. Like I tell my son, you can say anything you want in this country, but know there are some people who might not like it. Decide for yourself if saying it is worth the grief.
The thought police are everywhere nowadays. I just shook the hand of the republican in my state running for Gov. at a function tonight. I looked him in the eye and said, " I'll shake your hand, but there is no fucking way I would ever vote for you or any republican." Man it made my day, as I was surrounded by staunch republicans at the time, and there were open mouths and nothing being said. Priceless. |
commie bitch LOL
|
I was there. She was just saying that he was number 1.

Don't touch the President blablablablalbalbalblabl... BRAINWASHING!
|
My gawd, she's lucky she did not get a capital punishment for that act!
|
Firing her was a harsh, knee-jerk move on the part of the school officials. There are other forms of disciplinary action they could have taken instead of terminating her employment and taking away her livelihood.
So the kids saw their bus driver giving Bush the finger - big fucking deal. Its hardly corrupting their little minds...given the onslaught of stuff they see on TV on a daily basis. Classic over-reaction. |

Here is a tip. Unless they have like minds, they don't give a shit what your convictions are. If they had all started telling you their convictions would you have given a shit? :winkwink: |
