Which Hosting Company: Phat Servers, Nat Net, or ISPrime?

Gonna choose one of them... just trying to decide which one. Did some searches and couldn't really find anything bad about any of them. Any recent personal experiences (good or bad) that you'd like to share with me to help me choose?

NatNet, you can't get any better

ExtremeBank_Adam 11-04-2006 10:40 AM

Also, I'm thinking of adding NATS... doesn't Nat Net work with Executive Stats exclusively?

Adam

I would Recommend National-Net. They have a state of the art data center that they OWN and host some of the largest customers in this business. You never hear drama about them, and there are never threads about them being down. They may not be the cheapest, but you get what you pay for and if uptime and quality of bandwidth is important to you then you will be very happy.

Well in my opinion they are probably only second to Cavecreek.com LOL

Ron....Thanks for the kind words, my friend. Like someone else said in this thread, it means a lot when a competitor comes out and says good things about you. Few people in the world know as much about hosting as you, so it means even more. Thanks, sir.

Adam...Honestly, you could not go wrong with any of the three of us. We each have our specific areas that we may be better or worse, but overall I think you named three of the best (you might seriously add cavecreek.com to your list...and there are one or two others as well). As for NATS, we have many clients using them and we we will be happy to help you use them, as well. We can, however, talk to you about the new Executive Stats, if you like.

Thanks to everybody else who posted about NatNet. It makes me smile from ear to ear every time I see one of these threads knowing that we are doing things right. ;)

i used to do work for someone that had boxes at Nat Net and even at 2am when i called tech support there was someone there 2 rings away that was able to fix my issue.

All 3 you mentioned are great hosts tho its just a matter of preferance.

I do find it funny tho that all the sig whores and hosts with no class comming in here spamming thier service.

Thanks for the reply. I really like what I've heard about your company, but admittedly don't like the 1 year contract that you require. Not that I plan on abandoning ship (I have been with my current host for 5+ years), but if (for whatever reason) I'm not happy, I don't want to have to stick around for the contract term.

CIVMatt 11-04-2006 11:07 PM

Adam I'm getting 404 from your sites, all my affiliate links are crashed out, I cant see any of them (btw I just switched from cfl.rr.com to tampabay.rr.com)

Odd... I can see them from my home (tampabay.rr.com).

Anyone else having a problem?

Can you send me your IP address via email and I'll see if it's blocked for some reason?

BV 11-04-2006 11:28 PM

We have 3 dedicated boxes with PhatServers and have been with them going on 6 years now.

I can't say enough good things about their support. When I need something done it gets addressed PRONTO!

Hey Adam...

I am glad that you like what you are hearing about us....we work very hard to keep our reputation prestine by doing whatever it takes to take care of our clients. This is why we rarely loose a client and why we have never, ever had to force a client to stay based on an agreement that was signed.

As I recall, we were the first company in the adult hosting world to STOP requiring contracts back in 1997...my philosophy was that I wanted clients to stay with us because they were happy not because they had signed a contract. That is a noble idea, but not realistic in the world of big business...and it is not why you may think.

Once a hosting company gets as large as NatNet then you have to start dealing with Bankers and CPAs and Certified P&L's and the like on a level like I never anticipated. These guys are the ones that are wondering "Where are the contracts?" It is something that we do to keep them off our backs. In the history of NatNet, not ONCE have we ever enforced a contract on a client that was not happy with our service.....hell, we have never enforced a contract period. Of course, I cannot say what tomorrow may hold but if past experience is an indicator of future performance then I really believe that you should not concern yourself with a simple agreement...but ultimately that is your call. I hope that you can see through this and come join the NatNet Family.

I am actually with my son in Detroit today heading to the Falcons game...I will be home in Atlanta tonight and back in the office tomorrow. If you would like to talk directly to me call me at 1-888-4-NATNET and let's get you on board

:thumbsup

Thank you, again. I just found it odd that your company was the only one asking for a contract. I was initially told it was 24 months, which I turned down. Then, I was emailed and told 12 months.

I, too, am leaving for a game (Bucs vs. Saints). I will give you a call tomorrow to talk more in depth. Do I just ask for "T"?

HorseShit 11-05-2006 08:45 AM

Phatservers has AMAZING support. Most issues are handled within minutes via email or phone if you desire. Phatservers do NOT outsource any of their support like some of the other well known companies do. Everything is handled in house with qualied, on site techs, 24/7 with no exceptions.

Phatservers has COMPETITIVE pricing. All Dedicated and Shared plans are priced very reasonably considering everything is fully managed. $50.00/mbit overage is also very reasonable. If you compute it out, it puts the per gigabyte overage rate right around $0.16 per gigabyte. This is very reasonable for quality bandwidth!

Phatservers uses a GREAT control panel by default. All Phatservers accounts are automatically setup with DirectAdmin, which in my opinion is the best control for quick functions, and ease of you right out of the box. If you compare it to some of the hosting companies that have their "own" control panel it's far superior.

Phatservers has been in the hosting business for 7 years+ and hosting some very large sites and companies. This is important because Phatservers is NOT going anywhere (which everyone already knows!) You can rest easy at night know your money making sites are in the hands of a great company that monitors all servers for downtime.

Phatservers was built BY webmasters. Why is this important? Well, you don't have a bunch of newbies that have started a hosting company and don't know what the hell they are doing in the first place since they have never even created profitable sites. The quality of a host is much better when the owners themselves know what it takes to run fast sites!

And finally, if you mention me you will definitely get a nice discount when you choose a plan! :-)

garce 11-05-2006 09:29 AM

Another vote for Phatservers here.

Isprime is my secondary host and I have never had a problem with them. Tech support in particular is top notch.

I would permanently blacklist any host who have retards spamming them if they are not on your original list of three options.
