AFTERNIC stops listing ADULT DOMAINS

stupid decision, but Afternic sucks compared to Sedo anyway :)

And, there is certainly no lack of other Internet sites where such names are welcomed.

The Internet, much like the early days of television, is still a new frontier. We believe it is up to the industry leaders-and we include Afternic here-to step up and determine what constitutes professional standards and practices. We take this action in the interest of socially responsible corporate behavior and hope that it leads to further healthy industry dialog and discussion on the topic.

We greatly appreciate your business and support of Afternic, and will continue to endeavor to earn your confidence and trust.

Sex (legal)
Gambling (legal in most states)

and compare them to:
Violence
self-destructive behavior
hate
drugs

I saw this coming a year ago when I saw that their company was ran by hardcore Christians, no surprise here.

Will, look at it from the biblical point of view - hate, sex, abusing your own body (drugs) etc are all things that the bible is against. They are christian, and they look at sex and gambling in the same way they look at hate and violence.

There is no surprises here, and I suspect it will actually add value to their non-adult sales, as they will certainly have much fewer listings.
