Is there a way to realize if a LCD has death pixels?

Gonna change my CRT, and I am going to test the LCD before I buy it. Is there an easy way to notice if it has any death pixels? Should I test it with dark background? Are they really noticeable?

Viewsonic only covers it, if the LCD has more than 7 death pixels, crazy.. Maybe it's a stupid question, but I have never had a LCD.

Try it with both white and black backgrounds... if it has dead pixels, you'll see them show up as a colour, such as a red dot on a black background.

Wow, interesting, thanks guys..

Also, has anyone had problems with dead pixels when you bought your LCDs??

How common is this problem? Did they changed it?

Because viewsonic doesn't change it, unless it has at least 8 pixels!!! CRAZY!!!

Haven't had the problem with purchasing one, but I've had monitors eventually develop dead pixels.

I know few of my friends that have bought a Samsung LCD's and they didn't had any dead pixels at all just like me.

Don't worry about dead pixels. And get a Samsung, they rock in the LCD market.

not sure about elsewhere , check your consumer affairs law
but here in victoria austalia , if the product is defective they need to replace it or refund your cash , the 5 dead pixel is just an agreement between the shop and the maker , when your a customer the agreement is between you and the store so the 5 dead pixel shit doesn' apply
