use the money wisely - amazing that people have so much money for a entertainment box when there are homeless dying on the street who only need a few bucks to survive

I didn't get nearly as many PS3's as I wanted =\ Only got ten 60gb units and three 20gb units. I’m debating whether or not to keep one 20gb for myself, put the ten 60gbs on fleabay (5 3day, 5 one-day). No BINS, just going to let it ride hehe. Still not sure what I’m doing with the other two 20’s…

Anybody think it’ll be worth it gathering up people and get some Wii’s? They are selling for 700 to 750 right now but shit, they are going to be pretty easy to get… I guess I could try getting homeless people to stand in line like that guy did at circuit city lol.

You mean they only need a few bucks to buy alcohol with? I have a lot of homeless people in my area and every time one of them asks for money I'll offer to go get them something to eat. ZERO have taken me up on that offer. :disgust

Yup - I do the same. I'm sure there ARE hungry people out there - but I haven't found one yet either. I think the ones you see most of the time are the ones desperate for drugs and booze. True hungry are probably hiding out somewhere.

I guess you could have made more...

Violetta 11-17-2006 11:47 AM

how much did you pay for it in store?

Aquarius 11-17-2006 11:48 AM

I'd never pay that much for a video game system.

He paid $599 plus tax (if applicable) for the 60GB version. 7% here, so I paid around $642 each for mine. The 20gb systems were $499 w/o tax.

edit: last store I went to today @ best buy they had a 'raffle' to keep people from trampling each other to death. Was actually pretty neat, though wasn't fair at all to those who were in line the whole time. Afterwards a guy was there offering a 1000 bucks cash to anyone who wanted to give up their tickets/place in line, not a single person offered lol. Two people there were being paid $50 a hour (made around $600 or so each)... was some crazy shit haha.

NemesiS876 11-17-2006 11:51 AM

congrats to you

The 18 year old kid next door to me has 6 of em, his digital camera broke and he asked if I could take a few pictures for him. He's a smart kid sitting on a few grand there. :)

I made the decision to fill out a job application. I'm not sure what she did. Just because one can afford it and she cannot doesn't make me the bad guy. I worked for mine. How is it all of a sudden my responsibility to take care of those who refuse to take care of themselves. Not my fucking problem!! I know it sounds harsh and i do give to homeless people ALL OF THE TIME but i hate it when people start giving people a guilt trip because one buys a $150,000 car instead of giving that to the homeless. We work to have nice things. No one goes to work in the morning thinking: i'm doing this SOLEY for the purposes of survival and giving to the homeless.
Negative.

martinsc 11-17-2006 11:53 AM

nice :thumbsup

wedouglas 11-17-2006 12:00 PM

I gaurantee no one is going to actually pay for those $5K ones. hell not even the 3K. The ones ending at the same time were like 2500.

I hear you on that one. Toronto has the same type of homeless. Only once have I been taken up on my offer of a meal rather than money. Bought the guy a double burger combo at Harvey's at Yonge & Bloor.

If you're really homeless and hungry, you don't pass up a meal because you never know when the next one is going to arrive.

axelcat 11-17-2006 12:06 PM
