L-Pink 11-19-2006 04:14 AM

Or in my case 32 times faster. I'm interested in the answers also.

I've never had much luck with voice recognition software. I have sort of a strange voice, so it doesn't work right for me. I may have to look into it though, because you have a very good point. I could crank out a weeks worth of posts in an hour probably.

You may wish to ask sly or see if he runs any blogs.

I have a heavy accent too, I played around with one about 2-3 years ago and it was getting only like 40% of what I was saying right, but I know that you can "train" it .... back then I downloaded it only out of curisity so I didn't really spend much time trying to figure it out

Same here. I got a trial version of Dragon Naturally Speaking or something like that with a headset I bought, so I messed with it a little.

Funny story...my buddy's girlfriend moved in with him, and she brought her computer with her. He had no idea that she had voice software on it, and it also had a mic built into the monitor. So the first night that they hook the computer up, she decides to crash and leave him up getting everything set up. He gets online and messages me...and all the sudden...the computer starts "typing" on it's own. He freaks (he really believes in ghosts, etc), shuts off his messenger, and tells no one about what happened. A couple of days goes by...he finally gets back online...same thing happens. This goes on for a couple of weeks...and my buddy is literally about to lose his mind. Finally, he tells his girl what's happening...and she tells him about the voice software. Turns out, the mic was picking up the sound from the TV and "typing" everything that it said. lol

haha i had just bought a toshiba laptop , and it had voice recognition software in it that i had forgot about, so anyways i plug in a mic to talk on skype ( i also had my tv on loud ) and it was a boom mic so it picks up sound rather well. Anyways , all of a sudden my computer starts opening and closing programs and running shit etc i thought i got hacked or something hah , took me a few mins to realise it was the voice recognition.
