well you know they could at least post a news item or something you'd think

Penthouse Tony 11-19-2006 10:29 AM

It's the number of confirmed signups you recieved. i.e. The number of signups that actually log back into their account at least once after signing up.

within what period? confirmed out of those that signed up that day, week, month, what? and the free signups you guys have been showing all along aren't even confirmed, they're just signed up without ever having actually gone back to the site and logging in?

Webby 11-19-2006 10:35 AM

It started Thursday I beleive. If you have someone that confirmed a signup from before Thursday on Thursday or after it notes the confirmation on the date of the signup.

Digipimp 11-19-2006 10:39 AM

alright, i guess i thought these free signups were at least confirmed signups all along. no wonder they hardly ever convert, that and that 4.99 a minute price kills it i guess.

Digipimp 11-19-2006 10:43 AM

a free signup can also sit and watch free videochat as long as they want without restriction cant they, without ever buying any credits?

There are few restrictions but after awhile they either have to pay or will get bored of the non-nude chat.

I think that's underestimating these people. Signing up for free without a credit card and being able to sit in videochat with these women doing everything but being totally naked for free, all day everyday with different women and being able to chat. I wish there was like a 3 minute timer or something if you didnt have credits.

thanks for the explenation...

I beleive there is a timer. If not there is usually someone in the chat that will take the model private after a few minutes.

Why not make new members click on the confirmation link that gets sent to their email address BEFORE they can use their account? There's not even a message telling them to go confirm their email after they register. I find it kind of strange that they can get a free account without ever confirming their email address, just more reasons for them to enter bogus info.

I remember a few years back when I tried to buy credits with a credit card, everytime I tried the transaction would be declined with some bullshit fraud warning message, then my account would be terminated. I went through at least 3 accounts before I was finally able to purchase credits. Guess how I was able to do it? For no reason at all I decided to check my spam folder one day and found a streamray email there with a link to confirm my registration. I confirmed it and never had more problems buying credits.

I don't know if this is how it works nowadays, but I have to wonder how many transactions are being declined and how many accounts are being terminated because the surfer had no clue he had to confirm his email address before purchasing credits.

I think there should be stricter rules on the free members, as well as having the girls be a little more aggressive. I like what Streamate does by allowing you to watch for awhile, but not able to chat. It's silly that the non-paying members are allowed to chat with the girls.

I don't think the non-paying members being able to chat is the issue. For example, with AWE the surfers can chat even without registering, yet AWE converts better than Streamray. The issue is most of the streamray models only chatting with the guys that have credits and ignoring the ones that don't (yes, they can see who has credits). Eventually the surfers get bored and go away, perhaps thinking it was a recorded video because they couldn't get a simple 'hi' out of the girls.

Digipimp 11-19-2006 04:50 PM

pretty bad as big as cams are and they're still getting bigger that not one single place has the right combination of everything going for them. i do however have one cam sponsor I rarely see mentioned on here if at all that converts so nice!

maybe cams will stop talking about being the greatest and listen to webmasters about some of the changes that will make them the greatest, not likely though.

Thanks for the explanation on the stats change, been wondering about that myself :thumbsup

My reply:

I manage some of the nets top earning cam models....and I can tell you that one of the reasons some of our top earners are on streamray and not other sites is the fact that they can indeed see who has credits and yes they do speak to freeloaders without credits in the hope that the attention will pay off later.,of course surfers with credits will get more attention and so they should.

For many years models had to sit for hours with guys saying show pussy..show ass and I will take you private and the model responded only to find the guy was penniless and had never had any intention of using a c/card...maybe if you jumped up and down like a monkey for about 10 hours ..you would start to understand why it was a very welcome tool for models at least now when she does all these requests she knows she stands more of a chance to perform a paid show, afterall she is not there to entertain the many freeloaders with all thier requests many whom think that they can demand girls to be puppets for them and forget its FREECHAT ....

The cam industry is still thriving and very profitable for those with long term experience in the market. :thumbsup

I wasn't talking about those misleading requests like 'show pussy or flash a nipple and I'll go pvt with you'. Excuding the newbie camgirls that 'fall for that', a camgirl shouldn't need to be able to see if the guy has credits to respond to those requests or not, because she shouldn't be showing the goods in freechat to begin with. I was talking more about simple stuff like hi, age, location, what she likes to do etc stuff that makes the surfer get to know the girl better, wich is important. Sadly most girls won't reply to that and just sit there like wax figures waiting for the next guy with credits to enter the room to become alive. You really notice this when you have an account with credits and an account without credits like I do.

Sure being able to see who has credits is very good for the models, it allows them to milk the proven spending guys to the last drop, but it doesn't do one bit of help in luring in new customers, which is what all of us sending new visitors right now hope will happen.
