The first official announcement about our highly anticipated user review site:

Porn Users

Since launching TheBestPorn.com in late 2003, we've lead consumers to what we consider the "best" porn. Our reviewers are good, but will never be perfect. Simple fact is, we can't compete with an opinion from the paying consumer. The revolution begins January 10th!


Here's how PornUsers.com will interact with webmasters:

1. Users will be able to publish full reviews (pros, cons, bottom line), quick comments, or quick ratings about any site listed at TBP.

2. Webmasters will have the option for direct e-mail nofications when new reviews or comments are published from users.

3. Using their log-in already established (from TBP), webmasters will be able to reply directly to user reviews and comments publically. Webmaster replies will be clearly labeled as 'site webmaster'.

4. Other ideas are being bounced around to allow webmasters to post site info, announcements, and more, that potential consumers would find valuable.


We've talked to site owners and they WANT to hear from the consumers, especially former members! I think the lack of consumer confidence is something our industry naturally suffers from. We're hoping to help improve user confidence. It's time for sites that work hard to provide a solid service (with good support) to get recognized!

Btw I saw your name and now i have a craving for that older fine dining restaurant we went to eat at when you were in town. I haven't been there since that night and seeing your post just reminded me of it. That or nobu it's a toss up.

This could be very useful,so we can fix mistakes which usualy surfers dont like to see.

nice idea - you should also have a feature, maybe you already do, that other users when they read a review by another surfer/user can choose an option 1)agree 2) disagree

and turf out bad reviews that are just nasty for the sake of being nasty or ones you suspect have another agenda.

i like the idea.......

I've gone back and forth with the agree/disagree options. Right now we have a "replies" feature where users can post anything they want to say. But a more anonymous feature like that might be good as well. It's still something easy we can add now or later and I appreciate the feedback!

Sounds excellent. Too often reviews are written by reviewers just going through the motions. Actual members have something invested in their membership and may speak from more experience. I've also sometimes wanted to correct reviewer comments that were just blatently wrong. This is the answer.

Sounds very cool! One thing that would concern me though is illegitimate reviews...

Any kind of review site, or ratings site for various products that allow user reviews eventually get flooded with fake reviews from people who actually make the product, but pretend to be customers. Its inevitable, but I hope you guys can find some effective ways to minimize that.

I like it but how are you going to stop the abuse from other webmasters posting fake negative reviews of their competitions sites and been able to post positive reviews of their own sites?

I am looking forward to this as we have had several members asking if there are any review sites that they can go to and write their own reviews or thoughts. I will be sure to direct them to the right place on January 10th ;-)

Probably our biggest challenge. We'll have a lot of tools and auto-filtering built in to prevent this as best we can. IP/cookie tracking is a must (ability to ban/suspend IP), but not difficult to bypass. Credibility will be the key and every user's feedback (review, comment, replies, etc) will be archived and exposed at all times. "Guest" feedack will have a lower "weight" toward the overall score, and we'll reject guest reviews if they don't appear geniune (guests won't be able to make quick ratings). "Registered Users" will have a user "rank", so a user with a higher rank will appear to have higher credibility.

The key will be to import enough users from TheBestPorn.com where fake reviews will be overshadowed by the genuine ones. Users will have more than enough information to judge for themself. Reviews past 1 year will be considered out of date and will be archived (to view, but won't count toward the score). In addition, our TBP review score will be displayed and easily accessed for surfers that want an honest unbaised review from us.

It will be a great benefit to surfers and to webmasters who can take the feedback and make impovements where needed.

There will be 50 sites that will take advantage of the information and be rewarded while 1000's will just keep on giving the customer the same shitty sites.

I just wanted to drop in and say how excited I am regarding this project. I am always surprised on how interactive our users with us. I think that this site will be a great extension to TheBestPorn.com. It will be run and managed with the highest level of objectivity and honesty that TheBestPorn is know for. The site will be monitored fulltime.

We will also encourage webmasters to be active on the site. You will be able to post replies and interact with the users. It will be a great second level Customer Service.
