Oh No US Dollar.

50cents for 1 uk Pound now - is this the lowest its ever been?

On the one hand its becoming less valuable to get US sales - on the other - I'll be able to buy the US soon

:)
:(

Dunno.

MrChips.

Its sad.... the only place where I feel like a get a good bargain for my dollars still is thailand where you can still buy a hooker for the price of a bucket of chicken.

sure
I wondered that it must be really expensive for US people to travel over europe now .....used to be vice versa

MrChips 11-30-2006 02:39 PM

£200,000 in the UK gets you a three bed semi-detached house.
In the US - that converts to $400,000 - ohhhhhhhhhhhh baby - a 5 bed detatched with albeit shared pool in Palm Beach.

Sheesh... thought you were generalising and joking, but correct!

That time came sonner than expected... $0.5087 on exchange, tho still hovering around $1.9655. It's likely that it will get worse against the dollar shortly - least based on UK market trends.

Think it was in the early 90's when GBP/$ last reached that level.

Michaelious 11-30-2006 02:53 PM

Yeah i think this is the lowest, dunno how this will affect me when i go over to anerica in summer with my gf to meet her folks

DutchTeenCash 11-30-2006 02:54 PM

You will feel rich beyond your wildest dreams. Her folks will look at you with awe as you flash your cash around :)

MrChips 11-30-2006 02:55 PM

Hmmmmmm - I would still rather live in the UK tho - dont know why.

cheekycherry 11-30-2006 02:57 PM

Hmmmm... This is not good.

But hey, on the bright side if and when things get better, think how nice the pay raise will be.

It's fucked compared to what it was a few years ago, especially here in the UK..... still since the thai currency is linked to the dollar I'll think I'll be alright there when I go in two weeks time ... :thumbsup

Four years ago us Aussie were doubling our money when being paid in U.S.D.
I remember it being 48 cents u.s to the dollar...those where the days.
I just looked at the exchange rate...it's now over 78 cents to the $. Shit.
