Nintendo owns the domain wii.com but I can't imagine they have for long.

That must've been a sweet deal for the owner.. Anyone got some facts?!

Nintendo has always used nintendo.com. Even gamecube.com redirects to Nintendo.com.

That's a lot of free traffic.

wii.com definetly shows a wii console over here.... so they must have made some deal somehow

No idiot, because Wii are the initials of the company that originally registered and owned the domain before it was recently purchased by Nintendo.

I was at a friends yesterday and we were looking for wii domains for a new project he is launching. It is amazing how many were already taken.

We found a good one though, and I will let you nerds know about it as soon as it is launched. Should be pretty fun.

The company that owns it should at least put a site with adsense on it.

Maybe nintendo purchased it on the downlow or they are just renting the space until the end of the year to boost sales.

either way if nintendo's logo is on that website the owner has been paid im sure a great deal of money since he is aware of the circumstances.

yes. i am the proud owner of that domain but they took me to court to get it for nothing. they even got me to pay the transfer fee :-(

At the end they brought me a dougnut to say no hard feelings.

would be interesting to see how much nintendo paid for it.
