Where do hosting providers get their bandwidth?

Where do hosting providers get their bandwidth? The reason I ask is I want to run a few servers in my house but I need some bandwidth because my ISP wont let me do it.

Basically we use 1 gallon milk juggs. We have people that carry it in daily. Sometimes we use our own trucks, sometimes ups or fedex brings it. The important thing to remember is keep the lids tight until you get it to your servers... Heh the stories I could tell about spilled bandwith... :1orglaugh :1orglaugh

You can collocate your servers ... basically send them to a datacenter and they will give you HVAC, power, and bandwidth.

Contact me -- colo in Dallas with Tier-1 bandwidth at affordable rates.

you will probably want to go with a colocation deal like MSV said above. routing, network maintance, power, local loops, and other things make hosting at home very hard. plus its going to be cheaper to colocate your server.

Why on Earth, other than for development purposes and/or intranet networks, would you want servers in your home?

LOL I like doing everything myself I just don't know what ISP will allow me to run servers?
