Sponsors who use WhoisGuard protection
How do you feel about that? I dont like the idea of a program having my info and i dont know who the hell they are. Seen a few sponsors doing this so far.
|
you can always ask em. I can understand their reasons maybe (if those reasons are keeping upset wives away from their offices;) )
|
naming these sponsors didn't cross your mind?

The USDOJ isn't exactly friendly to adult.
I think that is probably the main reason sponsors use it. |
To block WhoIs spam is probably another major reason people use it.
|
I still don't get the reason for NOT naming such sponsors in this thread.
Since most people would agree that it's a bad, dubuious or shady thing, you aren't doing anything wrong with just mentioning the sponsors who use whois protection. And if you feel it's perfectly fine, then naming them also won't harm them in any way. |
Well, as long as I see a real adress on my checks, I wouldn't care. I want to know my business partners, but it doesn't have to be via the whois.
For sponsors using CCBill, I'd have mixed feelings with an anonymous whois, especially when thinking about 2257 and all sorts of legal things discussed in several very popular threads at the moment... |
I use Whois protection on all and everything i do.
If a partner wants to know who i am he can ask me but there´s no need to make all information public. Besides the spam point another reason could be the origin of the owner.. not every government supports porn :D |
Smaller sponsor may use their home address.
I don't like to have my home address on my porn-domains. Do you? |
