Is anyone sticking with DirectNIC?

Serious question.
IS anyone really staying with DirectNIC after all this drama over them?

I pulled my few domains the other day.
And from talking to others it seems more are transfering away from them.

Did DirectNIC just start the end for themself?

<= Waits for the usual suspects, Peaches, RawAlex, Carrie etc. etc. to start singing their biased "mike is my friend and everything he does is good" song.......

Actually considered transferring to them. From them I know that if there ever raises an issue ethey will atleast give you a chanche to rectify it. And the fact that they are strict on cp is a very positive point. But since I'm a cheapass I probably will not transfer them and pay double of what I pay now. In 6 years I never had 1single domain locked so I guess Godaddy isn't that bad for me.

Not with them, and now never will be. :2 cents:

They've got something like a million-two-hundred-thousand domains registered. I have no idea how many clients that figure represents but I'd hazard a good guess it will take more than a few dozen or even a few hundred adult webmaster pulling out to put a dent in their bottom line.

I will be keeping my domains with DN. I have 70 or so with them and a few with godaddy.

Never had a problem with DN and still don't.

I think/hope that when all is said and done, and we all hear the full story (if we ever do) that DN will be proven proper in their actions. I think that this was probably instigated in some way by a gov agency coming to directnic with something.

But, I could be wrong as I often am. :thumbsup

BTW BA, did you learn your pissing skills from 420manatee?? Mad skillz there lolol

What you decide to do in business is up to you. Note that I have no domains registered with Directnic.

BigDeanEvans 12-15-2006 12:05 AM

I have been with Directnic for over 6 years and have over 500 domains with them. I've never had a problem with them or their service. I do have teen content on my domains but fortunately for me, i am 2257 complaint and im in possession of every piece of ID and model release for each model that appears on my site.

All of my sites are indexed. I can pull up a scan of the model holding her ID's, a clear color copy of the model's government issued ID, social security card/ birth certificate & model release and have them faxed on a minutes notice to prove the age of any performer on my site(s).

Im going to wait to see how this all pans out. Im sure there's a lot more to this than meets the eye. Im sure Directnic would not be going back on their word (deadline - Monday DEC 18th) if it weren't for good reason.

Not with them to begin with

sarettah 12-15-2006 05:53 AM

garce 12-15-2006 06:04 AM

I'm not moving anything.

amateurcanada 12-15-2006 06:07 AM

I use namecheap, great place - directnic is standup, but its about cutting expenses lol.

Corona 12-15-2006 07:37 AM

Nope. I already moved my domains to Moniker.

I never had a problem with DN but like I told them it was a matter of principle.
