Shame at you AdultFriendFinder!

It absolutely pointless to be an affiliate to AFF any longer. If I use a zango infected PC and click the AFF links at my place EVERY CLICK generates another landing page without my affiliate code in the url! I tried other sponsors I have links to, no problems. It seems that zango has found a way around the .htaccess protection as well. So they deny you the right to protect your own domains! Has AFF a finger in that as well? Observe, TexasDreams, that was a question!

I recommend all AFF affiliates to install Zango and do a test. Interesting to see how long they will be an AFF affiliate after that.

There is a simple solution for AFF, is it not? AFF pays for the keywords, but Zango does not redirect. Competitors stopped! Or supply an 100% proof .htaccess file for the affiliates to use.

hasn't this been brought up 15 times with no resolve?

tranza 12-15-2006 10:47 AM

They couldn't care less about the people promoting them.

They already stated that they dont give a fuck if you dont like it. They arent going to supply jack shit. their answer is for you to send more traffic to make up for your losses

LadyNorth 12-15-2006 10:49 AM

I hope people will go on taking this thing up as otherwise there will be no affiliates in the future.

Dirty Dane 12-15-2006 10:49 AM

That sucks big time :(

I know there are strong forces here wanting the AFF-Zango criticism to stop.
But this behavior of a sponsor(s) is the beginning of the end of the affiliate system!

TheSwed 12-15-2006 11:38 AM

just pull the links :2 cents:

Exactly!

But it takes time and effort. We have hundreds of pages out there promoting AFF, many times with content from them we can't use with another sponsor.
And we have been affiliates for them since 1998. It sucks!
But I realize we have to start replacing AFF with an more honest sponsor. I wish AFF had launched a plan how they are going to get out from Zango.

Lots of choices out there just pick one and give it a go. You may be very surprised at how much more money you will be making. :thumbsup

The .htaccess protection against being robbed by AFF-Zango not working any longer, is that not news?

scottybuzz 12-15-2006 12:09 PM

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

bp4l-xp 12-15-2006 12:17 PM

still no replies from AFF
that is interesting!

gfx3 12-15-2006 12:29 PM

I spoke with an AFF rep, he called it the zango fiasco.

I guess it's referring to the Zango toolbar adding the word "Zango" to the user-agent that the browser sends, which means the server can see if someone has Zango installed.

If it no longer works then I guess they've quietly removed that.
