The Grateful Dead used to do annual New Years concerts here in the Bay Area (San Francisco and Oakland), and there are usually some big parties downtown in SF.

These days, I leave the New Years parties to the amateur partiers, and I party at home or at a nearby friend's house...

vegas is allright...been to New Years on the strip twice since I moved here back in 2002...and you do get tired of trying to navigate all the bullshit road blocks etc.

This year...friends and family coming over to my place...I can see the strip from my front porch...so we're going to watch the fireworks from there.

Finland or Norway is best way for celebrating of New Year.

Vegas was voted the number one New Years spot for the 2nd year in a row.
They completely close the strip to cars and it is a total party! If you have not been on the strip for New Years, you got to put it on your list of things to do!

I'd love to do Vegas some year with a big group of friends. This year it is just a get together at our place and then head out to the local bars later on in the night.
