The more I listen to the reporters on the BBC the more I think he was killed this morning and they just aren't saying it until the curfew kicks in.

Of course it will be filmed! There will be crazies (like the 9/11 conspiracy theorists) who will be saying that he escaped execution and is really living in Argentina and cloning little Saddams to come back and re-populate the Baath party. A film of his death blunts that.

The pictures of his capture, and the pictures of the death of his sons, were also taken/ released to cause some finality.
