The American law affecting this is related to banks, they are not allowed to send money to gambling sites. Which means, your bank, if it is a US bank, is not allowed to send money to any gambling site, thus you can not gamble online, period.

Only way around it is, get an offshore bank account to gamble online.

Pokerstars said they will be doing business as usual in regards to US costumers and I think they just started taking Epassporte so you can use your epass to play poker online.
