Who hates ICQ as much as me and loves Skype more?
 

I'm very tired of the spam on ICQ, the ad's, the crashes, the annoying interface. There's no ability to add others to the chat, they have not improved it in years IMO.

Skype has been a real blessing for my company, it allows us to interact with customers and even says money on calls if we use the voice feature.

Has anyone tried the Public Chat system? They don't list the public chat on the site yet but it's interesting to see the changes Skype comes up with.

i dont mind ICQ... then again I dont use it much other than for work.

yeah.. icq is buggy.. never tried skype..

I gotta get one of those phones to plugin to my pc & try it out..

Last time I tried a pc to phone call, fucking speakers & feedback.. ouch

Switched to trillian recently. But yeah, Skype is great.

I hate ICQ as well. Between losing contacts intermittently and missing messages, there's a lot to hate. Unfortunately, it's a love-hate relationship since most of my clients are on ICQ. I wish they were on YIM. :(

If you don't have headphones, don't worry. Just use Skype for chat, it's perfect for that as well.

I love Skype, faster and easier to talk as well.

ICQ is fine though.

I much prefer skype vs. ICQ for IM because:

- limitless additions to contacts
- emoticons are better
- 3 way chat np
- can easily switch to a (free) voicecall if needed
- sound alerts less irritating

It has saved us $$$ on all internal company commuinication:thumbsup

:thumbsup icq had the chance to improve but instead they choose to keep it old school, even msn messenger imo excelled past icq technology
OH UHH and that stupid fog horn piss me off

Skype is great, ICQ is ok
