This a joke? hehe :1orglaugh

While we are at it, anyone have any opinions on Ibill, or directnic?

AaronM 01-02-2007 12:55 PM

I use BofA. They piss me off on a regular basis.

The thing is that US Bank and Washington Mutual have pissed me off as well and I have worked for Wells Fargo so I know not to do business with those cocksuckers.

Banks are a pain in the ass but not using them isn't really an option.

Bastards. :321GFY

Platinum Dave 01-02-2007 12:56 PM

Bank of America has shut down companies in adult if they find out what you do. Go with another bank dude!

baddog 01-02-2007 12:58 PM

I have been using BofA for MANY years. Never a problem that wasn't easily resolved.

Yeah, I think I remember that happening to Brad Shaw. But, in the defense of BofA.....Brad is an asshole. I would have shut his accounts down as well.

BofA knows exactly what I do and they have never complained. In fact, I've even shot one of the employees who works at the branch my accounts are at.

Kimmykim 01-02-2007 01:24 PM

I think it was Price that had the problem with B of A, not Shaw. I could be wrong. B of A wants some business and doesn't want others. They are a big bank, with branches all over the US, which is a good thing if you do business or need to talk to a branch manager somewhere other than your own branch.

Wagerboy 01-02-2007 01:26 PM

I use BOA for all my accts. I never had a problem with them. Sometimes thier fees are steep(wires and such) but OK with me. :2 cents:

Sure it is. Unless you are a lazy American who wouldn't go an inch out of his way to do the right thing even though it would make life a bit more of a pain.

I had a lot of weird surprises with Bank Of America. Fees they didn't tell me about. Things they wouldn't do that i expected. Many Many Many times when "the computers are down." All in all the best bank I've used (and still use) thats all around the USA is US Bank. I haven't had any issues at all with them.

/me wishes US Bank had offices in Puerto Rico. I have yet to set up an account here.

I think you are several bits short of a byte. I just said "I have been using BofA for MANY years. Never a problem that wasn't easily resolved."

Boneprone had issues, but they were his own fault.

WebcamCash Anita 01-02-2007 01:36 PM

nothing...but then again , i'm in canada...

eZe 01-02-2007 01:48 PM

I use BOA never had a serious problem. I also use a small local bank as well. 3 like BOA because there banks all over. Generally speaking I believe that people get accounts flagged for behavior not the nature of their business.

I have also used off shore banks. That is a pain in the ass, and not worth it unless you really need to.

Their debit protection is always freezing my account because I have lots of "online transactions". They froze it around 8 times last year. I only find out when I buy something and my card gets denied, and then I have to call in to verify that the transactions are mine. If I buy concert tickets online my card gets frozen. If I buy airline tickets it will get frozen. If I charge something at a gas station twice a day my card also gets frozen. They said certain spending patterns follow what fraud perpetrators do, and I understand that they have the right to do this, but it's just really excessive in my situation.

Everytime I use my card now I have bad anxiety and become paranoid and undergo stress in fear that my card will be frozen. And then I have to waste 15 minutes calling their fraud department to have it cleared up. It will ruin my day because I have to put a hold on everything to call in their department. It can be very incovenient when I have to do this at the gas station or store... I wasted so much time calling in their debit protection department. It's ridiculous.

They claim they do this for my own protection but what happens is that I don't even get to access my own money. What if it was an emergency and I didn't have my cell with me to call in?

HometownHardcore 01-02-2007 01:55 PM

What do I think of them? I think I want to hurt them. Very badly. They make everything a hassle. I got switched to them when Fleet merged with them. I loved Fleet but BoA just sucks. Good luck getting your money back when someone takes money out when they're not supposed to. Oh and I love how they want me to PAY them to make money off my savings. I don't think so!

sicone 01-02-2007 01:55 PM

BofA sucks ass, they will rip off every dollar they can from you with fucked off fees for every thing you do

BiggleJones 01-02-2007 01:56 PM

If you have any HSBC's near you, I would say give them a look.

BofA has been giving me problems since I opened up a California account. I used to have an account in TX with no problems. But the Caifornia people seem to be a bunch of assholes. And also whenever I travel to another country, it's always hard or impossible to find a Bank of America. But every place outside the country that I've been has had HSBC and Citibank.

You know, if you take the time to actually talk to the people you can clue them in on your spending habits (ie: if you travel a lot, you can let them know ahead of time so they are alerted). It save a lot of hassle.

I can bet that if someone used your card without authorization you would probably be complaining that the fraud department did not pick up on it.

RawAlex 01-02-2007 02:01 PM

My bank suggestion is this: Don't have all your accounts or all your money in any one place at any one time. If you have three banks in your area, get accounts at each one. Share your money around, so that even if one of them blows you out or becomes a pain in the ass, you are 66% covered.

Getting a credit card from a second bank is also a good idea.

For companies, have at least two bank accounts, and alternate your deposts between then to avoid hassles. Keeps your cashflow as "cash" rather than "locked" if something goes to shit.

Alex

Ah, Boneprone, that was it. And shush. You arent perfect either. After all, I have enough problems of my own without trying to remember who hates which bank.

WTF is that supposed to mean?

What kind of a fucking idiot makes an ignorant comment like that? Perhaps a broke one?

I don't know about you but I get wire transfers and checks on a regular basis and it would be kinda hard for me to run an online business without banks. I'm not so sure that my clients would be happy about sending me thousands of dollars in cash through the mail.

What's left? Western Union? That's for broke people who can't get checking accounts and/or scammers....with very few exceptions.

rounders 01-02-2007 02:32 PM

bofa is ok..i like it. :P

I want an account like yours.

The charge me fees all the time.

With the kind of bank you make, you shouldn't have a problem. All you have to do is have a decent balance . . . and ask.

Ask them about their "Prima" account.

I have that and as a result have free everything . . . including as many business accounts as I want.
