I love Australia

Through thick and fucking thin Australia has been the best mate the United States of America could ever have. Australia rocks, that is all.

This would bring a tear to John Howard's eye.. He wants so desperately to be 'part of the world' ... I do believe he'd fellate GWB if he was asked by him to do so.

King Adam 01-07-2007 10:30 AM

I love kangaroos.

Australia to me IS a world power, they have great resources and a strong willed people. Not like those flakey European countries or American neighbors.

Yeah Australia is a world power, but it's very localized, and the problem is that the 'world' over there consists mostly of ugga-bugga nations and scattered islands. Not much of a world to have influence over. That's why John Howard tries to stick his nose into the USA's affairs so often. To keep the damn country on the map.

One of these days I'll take a month or 2 to travel oz.

i'll warn ya, you may never want to leave ;-)

I've travelled to a few places that are supposed to be amazing ... like the bahamas ... beaches along the coast of california ... beaches along the coast of florida ... all I kept thinking was 'I paid to fly here?!?!?'

ismokeblunts ... its possible, although there's not that many companies that formally shoot them unless its to eat. usually the job is taken care of by farmers with old hunting rifles in their back sheds trying to protect their crops ... but in the last 10 years since we started eating kangaroo, there are now companies that have very specific requirements for how the kangaroos have to be killed. They have to be shot and killed instantly or their meat toughens beyond being usable etc. Getting formal work here on a visa is fucking impossible, but you may be able to backpack your away around central australia and work for cash! Sounds like fun huh! ;-)

Australian words are GREAT. They always sound drunk. Billabong. Narrabundah. Diggeridoo.

No flies on me, mate!

WiredGuy 01-07-2007 06:11 PM

CJ, those pics look incredible. I'd love to visit, maybe in May :)

LMAO
if you drive from north queensland to south queensland (about 2 full days) you'll see some of the funniest words you've ever heard ...

like woodenbong (no really!!!), toowoomba, Gundungurra .... there's 1000's ;-)

WG, in order those pics were whitsundays (off coast of qld, australia, home of great barrier reef), new zealand (lots of mountains & green rolling hills & snow) and fiji (tropical, white sand, aqua water - heaven). Make sure you add boring old Brisbane to your list - its not as exciting as those pics, but there's lots of pornographers here ;-)

There are not many now that do it full time, and it is WAY out in the outback where there is any real money in it.

I used to do it Friday nights when I lived in the bush.

There are jobs to do it though, but most are su-contractors.

:thumbsup

Well that is exactly where I want to be! I'm not really down with populated areas, I want raw nature, and moonlight kangaroo steakfries.

Wild shot kangaroo is not the best eating mate - full of disease and shit, and after gutting hangs on the back of the truck for hours until you get back to the "box" where you drop them at the end of a night, and the only way to be sure is well-done, and it is tough as all crap if you do that.

CJ cooks kick-ass kangaroo, in fact she made beautiful kebabs for us just before I headed overseas.

:thumbsup

So long as you make some Billy tea, and we hit Wollengong... :thumbsup

I have a few mates between Sydney and Canberra - so much so that when I had a gent visit with a computer problem years ago and a localized accent, I asked him if he was from a city, or the bush. We chatted about Oz (and TimTams, etc) for a few hours.

..he came back the next year to visit - and stopped by with a box of TimTams for me. Classy blokes, those Aussies.

..other than Batts, but come on, he's Batts!

madawgz 01-07-2007 08:41 PM

i cant wait to take a trip there :)

that's good ol' aussie mateship that is! its becoming rare even here these days but I'm still always pleasantly surprised by the decent things people do for each other.

how did you know, my speciality is billy tea!!! i can even do it without getting rust in it ;-)
