FACT: Overoll ratios dropped %50 in a little over a year!
if it took you 600 uniques to make a sale a year ago, now you need 900 uniques to make a sale...thats a fact, and it will only become worse with time.
adult internet bubble about to burst. |
the sky is falling
|
no money in porn.
|
FACT: ratios dropped about 5 times compared to 8 years ago
|
Yeah, I know what you mean, I have terrible average ratios these days... 1:250 :(
|
if ratios were as good as 8 years ago, owners of domains like bigtits.com would redirect them to paysites and convert 1:150 instead of parking
|
If you include bothits, yes.

how much has the gross amount of adult traffic increased?
I wrote a huge post about this one time, discussing the increasing 'velocity' of adult traffic. Conversion ratios are a 'fools stat'. |

I wonder how much he got for them, but it's irrelevant to this thread since its about ratios, not domains... |
lol, maybe your ratios are 1:900 over there in tgp land

Going down you mean?

The funny part is if you asked the programs to post their ratios, they would claim everything is about the same as this time last year.
Program owners? Want to talk about it? |
my personal ratios have been better this year

Qualify your traffic better.

The growth in internet usage from countries acceptable to card processors has been slowing for several years, while competition within the industry has risen sharply. With a relatively small amount of fresh traffic to fight over, most apparent growth has come from the purchase of traffic which is near worthless either because of its source and/or because it has been recycled several times. Whatever peoples' opinions of TGP's, they are responsible for a huge part of the adult internet traffic pool and many are now seeing only 30%-40% US traffic, instead of the 60%-70% which was common 3 or 4 years ago. Much of the non-US traffic is near worthless (see last para), but the fact remains that we gear most of our marketing, content and prices towards the US market and make little effort to maximise sales to other countries. If we had a product with less built-in universal appeal, we would be doing even worse. In addition, the vast majority of us have spent years promoting over-priced, third-rate crap (try to come up with more than 50 or so sites on which you might actually spend your own money). Since our potential market includes a higher proportion of experienced surfers every year, it is surely inevitable that they become harder to persuade. |
not if you have the right traffic
|
Fact: There will be more online porn recurrings in 2007 then EVER!
Stats might have gone down yes, but think of how many MORE with an internet connection today than 2-3 years ago. But the scary part is that surfers are getting much much smarter. Torrents and p2p and forums can bring you SHITLOADS of free porn (full dvd's, pics and even games) |
It's not my fault you have shitty traffic.

P.S. I don't name my sites here to don't make this post look like a banal spam. The numbers above are just my own private statistics. |

My ratios were better in '06 than they were in '05... so far this year i'm at 1:550, not bad at all IMO. I'm probably just getting better at picking what I promote though.
ps. see sig, that's my actual ratio with radical so far on tgp traffic... far from 1:900 |
