How to cut mpeg clips in premiere 2.0?
I know it should be really simple... but im used to ulead video studio.
I want to load a large video, set a range using the } and { buttons (i've figured out that much). Then I want to export that range as an mpeg-1 clip with my specifications to use in a gallery. In the export area I can find divx, mpeg4, dv avi, etc... but no mpeg1, which I find pretty strange. Any ideas? |
There is no mpeg encoding for the trial version. So unless you have the full version no worky work.

i've got the full.. should be able to do it
just a matter of figuring it out |
Ok.. figured out how to render as mpeg, have to go to export/adobe media encoder. But im not sure how to get it to export only my selection of the clip.

Ok dont bother with the { and } just get the razor tool, cut out the section you want to use. Right click on the two sections you dont. and choose cut. Then choose the selection tool and either slide the section you kept, or right click in front of the timeline to the left and choose ripple delete. Goto export, then adobe media encoder. At the top under export settings is FORMAT: Choose mpeg1. Adjust it to the desired resolution and bitrate and hit ok. :thumbsup

that worked :) but if im cutting 4 clips out of a large video surely there must be an easier way to just save the razored selection instead of deleting the rest of the video around it and saving it that way?
