A big THANK YOU to AVN / AEE
So I take the time to drive down to the Sands expo today to attend the AEE trade day, seeing that I've been in the "trade" for over 11 years, figuring I could talk to some people about distribution and carrying their products. Takes almost 45 minutes to find a parking space in the Venetian hotel self park (Valet was full), but I finally get a spot. I walk from the 9th floor level of the parking garage and down to trade registration, since I wasn't sure if I was going to go this year, I didn't pre register back in November. Anyway, I stand in line for Trade Registration for 30 minutes or so and I get up to the "Onsite Trade Registration" window, and the nice girl there asks for my sheet, & a business card.. Well, I whip our one of my affiliate program business cards, and hand her that, and the reg. sheet. The nice girl states that she can not accept my business card, because it doesn't PROVE that I'm in the "business". I ask to talk to her supervisor, got the same answer. So because I am in internet retailer, and also run an affiliate program, and adult sites, I'm expected top have on my business card something that PROVES I'm in the business, what's next, To get a badge at Internext you have to bring a laptop and show them your whois information.. Fuck you! AVN, thank you, you saved me $145 today, and next year, and the year after that, oh and also the fees to ANY other shows that you are remotely associated with. Fuck you AVN, and the outsourced idiots you hire to run your show registration.:321GFY |
They asked you for proof you're in this business? Wow, thats a first. Did you ask to speak to someone with AVN as opposed to the convention staffing company thery usually get? I know in Florida their staff (not AVN) gave me a real hassle.

I wish I had, I was so pissed off after talking to the supervisor that I was ready to tear someones head off. It was better for me to just walk away.

digging their own grave :2 cents:
|
i don't get it, you had to prove you are in the biz to get into AVN Expo? I thought anyone could get into that
|
Anyone can get into the Expo, I needed to get into the B 2 B section, fuck the fan section.

I believe today was industry only. |

i kind of liked it that way haha |
yeah that is totally silly no wonder less and less people
are starting to attend these shows (sigh) Imagine you are not from there too what a nightmare that would have been . |

that also explains why people from the industry couldn't get in :1orglaugh fucking asshole idiots |
i had that problem with the AVN show one year many many moons ago- they demanded to see a business card to let me in. I had one though so it wasn't a problem.
they're damned if they do and damned if they don't .. if they don't demand id of some sort you get non business people in there - if they do they piss people off can't win |

You could call to register (pre registration), again, how would they verify I'm "in the industry" Online registration has already closed down, so I'm unsure there. I understand that they have to keep the "fans" out, but fan tickets are $60 I believe, trade registration is $145, why the hell would a fan pay $145 to get into a section that has nothing a fan would want. It just boggles my small and very limited imagination |

There is nothing funny here , I mean i know rick he is from Vegas area , but i am saying like what about the people from all over the world to attend this show that are not able to produce the type of document(s) needed , because of anal retentive rules . |

think he was laughing at the situation he was probably laughing at something else |
Keeping it on the front page for AVN :)

Sounds like you could have used my help.

well First of all I got my tickets today in fact got one for a new employee of mine that has no business cards at all... without a hitch.. I saw them hassle people today at the desk but it was for good reason.. they were showing electronics business cards from CES to try to get into our convention
ok that being said you complain because you show a business card to show your in the industry on trade day only? then get mad that they deny you? I don't know your business card or the design of it.. but my card has no nudity on it .. plain and simple Desert Entertainment.. and my name on my Card is Dirty Danza in fact I did not show a picture ID today at all either... then again people know me and my face around.... but I am sorry you got turned down.. if you want to register tomorrow you can do so under my company if you like... but I agree with aee and avn... I am there to get business done not meet and greet the girls.. I meet and piss on them on a daily basis anywho.... now my complaints on the show is.. way to small... what happend to porn.. used to be good and big.. now a small show.. I hope internext is decent... oh well back to ces and aee tomorrow... lots of walking... see you there |
