Why is GFY so popular.....
 

How did this site become so popular? Do you think its because of the age of the board? or because of playboy owning it? or because of the domain name? or just good marketing?

or maybe because all the industry players are coming here..

playboy just recently bought it....it was popular way before then..actually i think it slowed down ever since playboy bought it...

people just like drama and this board is famous for its drama and asshole posters LOL

comedy, drama, numerous fake personalities, amp, boneprone family,
plus Lens had the mailing lists of a couple of other boards i think ;)

Easy to admire, hard to replicate

the drama... it's all about the drama....

It does have everything I seem to get distracted from my work a lot with checking this place out, And it is starting to affect my income I suppose the same has happened to many others? Once you find that golden drama thread and it gets to be about 10 pages you need to keep up and read along thats what fucks me over as time flys when you watch a good trolling

i guess drama is a best factor why gfy is soooo popular....

to me gfy(obviously new here) it's like a sea of knowledge!

I think it has a lot to do with the competitiveness of this board other boards everyone seems to kiss each others asses here no one really gives a fuck

because there are so many crazy motherfuckers in here..

for me this board is super sweet because it offer me the chance to meet ppl in the industry as well as learn a lot.

Many of the reasons you guys listed are wrong... It was launched at the right time and we did a awesome job early on of marketing it, which in turn made it very busy, which in turn made more people want to visit...

It was very successful and established before Juicy, before Lens bought GFY and the only way you could get here was to type out gofuckyourself, but it was the 1st board that would give you a Tshirt for 100posts back in the day... :pimp

Because this is Adult.com board. I think everyone of us remember Amateurpages and other Adult.com programs. If you start to be here, you'll stay for years. It's like a 'second home' :)

I learn alot reading this board....Plus some of the posts are funny as hell...

Actually GFY came before Adult.com but I'm fairly sure that AmateurPages had some to do with the success... :pimp

I remember when we had our first GFY parties when it was just "Family"
and Joe hadnt bought adult.com yet.

Then he did and he was pretty pumped up about it, but didnt know what to do with it.

The next year or so he made the adult.com jackets and gifts, but still adult.com had nothing on it..

Then a year after that adult.com became a program...

Man time flys....

I remember going to shows and telling everyone about GFY.. Damn I was a whore..

But this place felt like a part of me..

I no doubt put some of the bricks into the foundation of this place. I helped build it....
