Safe Cheap Drug may cure most CANCERS (News)

Money quote:

The next step is to run clinical trials of DCA in people with cancer. These may have to be funded by charities, universities and governments: pharmaceutical companies are unlikely to pay because they can?t make money on unpatented medicines.

My comment: to those living with or who lost loved ones due to cancer, this is definitely worth looking out for. Very exciting finding!

What's wrong with this picture is that it leaves out the massive pharmaceutical companies that would lose money from their expensive chemotherapy drug lines.

Exactly, which in turns means (quite simply):

We won't see this drug in our lifetime without it being roughly the same cost as current treatments today :Oh crap

i'm not usually a tinfoil hat kinda guy but with oil and drugs - i really think oil companies and drug companies would do anything to undermine any cheap alternatives to what they make their billions selling.

Well, someone somewhere is making money from cures.

Well, as Harvey Keitel said to Samuel Jackson and John Travolta in "Pulp Fiction"--Let's not suck each other's dicks just yet.

The findings are very preliminary. While bathing the cancer cells in dichloroacetate (DCA) effectively kills the cancer cells, having lab mice drink DCA solution only reduced the size of their tumors. This indicates that a better DELIVERY MECHANISM for DCA is needed. Delivery in cancer treatments is usually very tricky. Some chemotherapy treatments use ANTIGEN based systems.

So either way, there will be SOME MONEY made by pharmaceutical companies in DCA treatments since it needs to be included in a compound that has a TARGETING system.

Regardless...... it's time for George Soros, the Bill Gates Foundation, etc to step up and fund this puppy. Seems very promising.

This is great news. There would be a cure for most diseases if there were money in cures. Unfortunately it pays more to treat rather than cure.
