Sensationalist BS if you ask me. You'd think it was the plague they way it's covered by our media.

You'd have to fuck a turkey in the ass without a condom to catch it.

he-fox 02-05-2007 06:35 AM

What´s that comparing to the 1,000,000 slaughtered daily to be eaten?

Bird flu can become some nasty shit, though.

the end is coming soon

The hysteria about bird's flu has started long time ago. Yep. It is very big problem. But it starts to bother. They should find ways out and not justscream about the problem.

I actually eat that stuff ..low in fat, etc...I also didn't order it from Tescos this week even though I am sure there is nothing to really worry about. Now, if there turns out to be a problem with the mushrooms that go into quorn then I am screwed.

do you want me to post some mad cow and bird flue pics from here, belgium germany and the rest of EU? Dont think thats pointless, I think the UK should get their fucking diseases in control.

UKJack 02-05-2007 07:52 AM

Bird flu came from them asian fuckers

DutchTeenCash 02-05-2007 07:55 AM

... and Im not even gonna mention the 1000s of illegal halal slaughters done in the UK without proper fines follow up and throwing these guys a nice ticket.

Open a butchershop, slaughter illegally on the side, make one big smelly mess of halal slaughtered animals ready to spread some nasty diseases, tell the council its for private consumption and youre free to go.

A mess.

So, you think the UK is responsible for Asian bird flu?

ah ok wow and who didnt have their border patrol in order and made sure that every country in the EU got infected and had to gas millions of birds AND livestock?

May I remind you that the UK converts meat into feed supplements containing infected cow and sheep parts without proper control since the 80s?

Seriously - I love London and I really like fish n chips and I know us dutchies fuck up stuff too, but THAT was the biggest fuckup Ive ever seen that caused a LOT of problems all over the EU.

Sarah_Jayne 02-05-2007 08:00 AM

So, how were they suppose to stop flying birds from flying over a country? It isn't like the UK is the only non Asian country to have bird flu.

No

I never said that - I said the UK is responsable for leaning backwards while knowing that there was an issue both with the bird flue AND the Creuzfeld.

If youre so concerned with this, then make sure when Blairs kicked one of these days that at least someone will take his spot who knows how to take proper and IN TIME actions.

This was yday in the UK and it just never ends.

Latest news
H5N1 in poultry in Suffolk (3 February 2007)

The Veterinary Laboratories Agency (VLA) has confirmed an outbreak of the H5N1 strain of avian influenza in poultry found dead on a farm near Lowestoft in Suffolk. It is similar to the virus that was found in Hungary in January.

First country the flu started after the Asian ones. Then and now again. Like I said same with Creuzfeld.

Ive seen it on tv, in the UK with my own eyes as well. Try that here, try slaughtering illegaly and youll get fined and thrown in jail. Not in the UK. Own consumption and youre free to go. Dont even have to clean the mess that spread all kinda diseases.

These things are common in India, but Id reckon the UK would have a more powerful and up to date legal system to take action upon these issues.

DutchTeenCash 02-05-2007 08:15 AM

For instance nationwide bans on exhibitions

Took 1 day in Holland to get them banned, took one month in the UK to get them banned. Any idea how many birds get infected on a tradeshow like that? I still cant see why a country - with a bird flue history - like the UK is so lagged on taking important measurements like these.

DutchTeenCash 02-05-2007 08:19 AM

this is exactly what I meant:

http://www.defra.gov.uk/news/2007/070203b.htm

'H5N1 in poultry in Suffolk confirmed as Asian strain of avian influenza'

http://www.defra.gov.uk/animalh/dise...0(E)040207.pdf

So its allowed to MOVE for slaughter from a restricted to a free zone. In other words, infected birds are slaughtered. Nice. Big thumbsup for the UK. I can see the roadsigns no livestock transport coming here already in the next weeks.

You must be kidding dear Sarah...it's not like poor little birds flying over countries coughing and fevered.
The two countries in EU that have that disease are Hungary and UK far from each other but that company is the same: Bernard Matthews

The problem is that EU countries get banned if a virus like this starts to spread...thats why some companies try to keep it as a secret(they worrie about a big loss of market)...but things just go out of control....that is happening right now

Dollarmansteve 02-05-2007 08:29 AM

Oh, the ornithology!

exactly - glad someones up to date

Its pure politics, Im sure all other EU countries will start a ban again like with Creuzfeld and thats the last Mr Bernard Matthews wants offcourse.

It propably makes sence, but how can you keep the bird flu in a secret? When not only people, but animals are diying from it?

4Man 02-05-2007 11:08 AM

Man that is bad,
Is there any people infected???

CaptainHowdy 02-05-2007 11:12 AM

I'm buying tuna stocks just in case...

Sarah_Jayne 02-05-2007 11:12 AM

I am not at all claiming to know it all about it...and I am sure that when the dust clears there will be a LOT of things that were done wrong. However, didn't Italy have have it too? I remember hearing something about Greece too.

I do think that UK officials need to be going to all these people near that plant that have birds in their yards for their own pets/food and demanding they be put inside of taken away. So far that isn't happening which sounds a bit dumb to me.

Lazonby 02-05-2007 11:13 AM

'Bird' has a dual meaning in English.
