What is a good champagne to send as gift?

Cristal? Veuve? Dom?

Spunky 02-08-2007 11:24 PM

Chicks dig Crystal

DateDoc 02-08-2007 11:24 PM

Depends on what u want to spend. Can't go wrong with Veuve I like it better than Dom.

After Shock Media 02-08-2007 11:25 PM

Champagne or sparkling wine?
There is a slight difference.

SleazyDream 02-08-2007 11:32 PM

i like dom or crystal

quantum-x 02-08-2007 11:53 PM

If you're sending real champagne, you're sending real champage ;)

Adam_M 02-08-2007 11:55 PM

I like Veuve myself..

Fat Panda 02-08-2007 11:56 PM

Veuve is excellent for the price and I know I may be going a little more low class but I really think Moet Chandon White Star is good too!

V.ZON 02-09-2007 01:23 AM

Moet

Moet is the best, take an expensive Moet is far better than Louis Roederer Cristal.

Cristal is not as famous in France as in USA, its just a well marketed champagne with USA rappers ;) For same price you get a LOT better champagne at MOET, perhaps less bling-bling but lot better taste/quality. :thumbsup

grumpy 02-09-2007 02:32 AM

Moet is the one to go wth if you have a little class. Crystal is for wannabee's who dont know the diffrence between sparkling water and champ.

In France, its written CRISTAL, not CRYSTAL , I have always few - bling/bling - bottles in my house (gold boxes with transparent gold paper) for my friends from USA ;)

Exactly, good to see someone who knows champagne.

Cristal is the name, its overpriced and so-so imho. Moet is always nice, if youre sending it to someone who knows try Krug, still prefer that one. Theyve got a boxed cuvee thats around a 100 and really nice :thumbsup

FlowerKid 02-09-2007 03:20 AM

I like Rothschild champagne and it isn't too expensive.

NickB. 02-09-2007 03:34 AM

Dom would be the best bro

Alky 02-09-2007 03:36 AM

Ahem... isn't it Cristal?

And I would recommend Perrier & Jouet Rose

If you are looking for something better priced, Moet Rose is also good :thumbsup

Veuve isn't a bad bottle for the price either.

Anna_O 02-09-2007 03:45 AM

Taittinger Comtes de Champagne 1996

Bollinger RD 1996

Are two nice ones that are not that expensive. Never had Cristal, but I believe it was the choice of Champagne among the Russian Tsars, so it can't be that bad ;) Also the regular Louis Roederer Champagne is very nice.

JeanClaude VanDamme 02-09-2007 04:05 AM

Many champagnes are good

Moet & Chandon
Dom Perignon (probably the best one)
Veuve Cliquot Ponsardin
Ruinart
Canard Duchêne

If I had to choose i'll take Dom Perignon

ADL Colin 02-09-2007 04:27 AM

Cristal goes far. I once needed to speak to the head of AT&T. I sent him a bottle of Cristal with a note that I wanted to speak with him and he arranged a meeting.

I concur :thumbsup

Madame0120 02-09-2007 05:40 AM

Tattingers is my favorite. Crisper than Dom and not so pricy. I know that's never a problem with Juicy .. but the best champage is a boring gift without some extras ...

I add 2 glasses and a pound of pistachio nuts.

Armand de Brignac is the new Cristal

(at least that's what Jay-Z says.. LOL)

LAJ 02-09-2007 08:21 AM

Something with a nice July vintage.

RebelR 02-09-2007 09:04 AM

Depends on the persons taste I guess, If its someone that knows their shit.. Something a little more boutique is in order, Tattinger is good, Personally I think Krug Cuvee is excellent, A rose would rock.. Pol Roger vintage Rose is awesome value for the money and great to pair with food.

If its for someone that doesnt really know.. stick with the Dom, Veuve La Grande Dame or Perrier Jouet (the one Nylz Posted) La belle Epoque.. The hand painted bottle is a nice touch

Pimpin_J 02-09-2007 09:06 AM

Crystal is like horsepiss over here in germany! Get a REAL champagne :)

Kimo 02-09-2007 09:07 AM
