how to reduce mpg file size ??
how to reduce mpg file size with/without loosing quality???
|
heh you want to make it smaller but still have the same quality, well if you don't want to convert it to another format then the only way to do it is to reduce the height/width.
|
what if i can loose a bit of quality??
|
Why not switch to asf or wmv format and not lose any size or quality.
It's called compression ... lower file size :thumbsup |

we convert our mpegs to wmv and reduce the file size by more than 60% and the quality still looks great! |
Windows Media 8 encoder. It's a command line utility so you have to operate it from DOS but it kicks major ass! It reduces video 30% on the already small WM7. You can also batch compress movies so if you have an entire folder of movies it will do them all at once. You can't beat it!

Reduce the audio bitrate...makes a huge difference.

Unfortunately with any compression there will always been some loss of quality. So to speak.
Especialy with video, due to the nature of motion. :glugglug |
Leave it to Fletch to get all sceintifical and stuff!:winkwink:
But what he said is true. You might want to try to get Cleaner 5.2. It is the most all around useful compression utility I've ever seen. You will be able to choose from all the MPEG formats 1,2,3 & 4 as well as WM8 & Real 9 & Quicktime 6. You can encode a few different ones and see what works best for you. Get the 5.0 download here |
You should talk to quiet.
I belive he is a fan of finally cut (or something like that) |
Hey Lizard d00d ...
