Hard to tell in general, you can get big traffic with 1k backlinks and a few hundred hits only with 50k.

But anyway, congrats, Nettrust, great directory :thumbsup

You gonna answer the question about your redirect? If you've got people linking to you in return for an entry do they know you do this?

Dude... I run everything through a web cache which logs requests.

Your server returned a 302 redirect.

themonk 02-18-2007 12:17 PM

congrats man

rowan 02-18-2007 12:19 PM

Here's what happened when I loaded your site... 2 redirects. The first came from your server (www.0-dix.com/38.96.6.100)

1171726936.408 1458 203.x.x.x TCP_MISS/302 777 GET http://www.0-dix.com/ - DIRECT/38.96.6.100 text/html

1171726937.038 630 203.x.x.x TCP_MISS/302 278 GET http://85.255.115.220/ind.htm?src=19...0&suri=%2F - DIRECT/85.255.115.220 text/html

1171726937.471 432 203.x.x.x TCP_MISS/200 664 GET http://85.255.115.220/site.htm?lng=1&trg=cln&oip=0 - DIRECT/85.255.115.220 text/html

You'll note that someone else independently reported the redirect and showed the second URL, which I hadn't mentioned.

Just a warning for anyone linking to his site, you can make your own conclusions. If he's innocent, then he needs to get his shit fixed.

please hit me up on icq#:53667259.

i was trying to figure out what was the problem. i had the same problem here. i found out it was a windows trojan overriding DNS connection settings. similar to this one:

http://www3.ca.com/securityadvisor/v....aspx?ID=39921

after i removed it, everything was back to normal.

please contact me, i just want to be sure it's not a problem with my server.

thanks!

Unless someone has written a virus for FreeBSD that affects Squid logs, the redirect came from your server. I don't see what your Windows workstation has to do with it.

rowan 02-18-2007 08:48 PM

Just to clarify...

Squid (my web cache software) does its own DNS lookups. It decided www.0-dix.com lives at the IP 38.96.6.100 (which I presume is correct), connected to port 80, requested "/" and got back a 302 redirect.

The server that runs my web cache uses unix, the server that runs your web site also appears to use unix, so there's no windoze involved

Linkster 02-18-2007 10:04 PM

That IP is correct:
Search Results for 38.96.6.100 [no reverse DNS set]
1 Results for 38.96.6.100

Website
1. 0-dix.com

It's not that hard to build massive massive backlinks if you know a few good tricks =)

I would have used the "uh I think my friend did it" excuse instead
...more believable :2 cents:

Turboface 02-20-2007 01:35 AM

nettrust, for some reason your site does not load in for me when I go to it. When I try a second time, I get there.

It's not my cache, ISP, or anything else on my end. Have you had anyone else tell you about this?

thanks for the notice. i didn't have problems like this...

btw, i didn't have those 302 problems, nor anyone else except rowan. to be honest i have no idea what could be the problem. just to be sure i recompiled apache, php and all the modules. :upsidedow

Read my message carefully again: it clearly shows the IP that my web cache connected to. It is the web cache, not the browser, that does the DNS lookup... and that is unix based, nothing to do with Windows.

Read it again, 0-dix.com = 38.96.6.100, that's right ? That is the IP is connected to, and that is what returned the redirect.

I dunno why you bothered bumping this... :winkwink:

Martin3 03-09-2007 10:27 PM

Majority of your links are all internal. Check the external links and the number is closer to 3,000 and of those 3000 the majority are all on the same sites.

Any script kiddie with a few domains could accomplish the same thing.

Links from your own site doesn't count when it comes to link popularity. :winkwink:
