------

I was painting a apartment next door when the lights went out, and out the back window I saw the toyota dealership on fire, the power lines were on wire and exploding,

these pics were taken from the back gallery before the police made us leave,

PHP-CODER-FOR-HIRE 03-03-2007 12:22 AM

Damn... pretty intense dude... Any idea what caused it?

tony286 03-03-2007 12:28 AM

damn thats fucking scary

imJason 03-03-2007 12:29 AM

no word on the cause yet, the dealership is rubble, and like 100 people dont have power , and like 6+ familys who live behind the place have fire and water and smoke damage and cant return to there homes,

lucky for me and my building I was up wind, but I have damage to my yard because the wall of the building fell on my property,

Dugmor 03-03-2007 12:33 AM

DUDE..... could you feel the heat from where you where at ?

Five cats caused the fire.

imJason 03-03-2007 12:36 AM

it was very intense, im standing on the second and third floor balcony, about 20 feet from the building,

you cant see in the pics but its a very large place like maybe 200 feet long and 50 feet deep,

from where I was the snow was melting and water running all over, and the heat was almost to much,

lucky for me and my tenants like I said we have a good 25 foot back yard and were up wind,

the house to the left are only 10 feet or so and down wind, the balcony were on fire and the windows broken and hours of smoke was pouring into there homes,

once the building really got going bad, the police evacuated all the buildings around it and would not let us back in,

RawAlex 03-03-2007 01:16 AM

That's just three streets from my duplex. I'm going to have to go check it out next week when I'm in that neighbourhood.

What a mess.

Amadora 03-04-2007 09:34 AM

I was in my appartment once when such fire happened in the next house. The house in fire was such close as on your pics. That was very very scary because my future depended on the wind direction.

Lykos 03-04-2007 09:52 AM

thats nothing,my house... and around 50 houses next to mine was like that after NATO boombing, lol

tASSy 03-04-2007 10:05 AM

woah, glad you're okay! that looks pretty massive.

RawAlex 03-04-2007 11:39 AM

I should point out that there is a half built new showroom across the street... :)

yah I also considered the irony, they probably should have waited to the new one was finished before burning the old one for insurance,

you can never rule out foul play when this kinda money is at stake,

the new place across the street aint cheap to build and neither was the one full of cars they lost, probably 1 to 2 million bucks raped up in all this,

hard to say how the fire will effect the business and what role money played in the fire,

Michaelious 03-04-2007 02:43 PM

That's pretty scary - lucky the wind didn't change on you.

sharp 03-04-2007 04:10 PM

dayum that's crazy
