This is not about the program its about the banner its self and wether or not it works as far as getting sign ups, or is just Fucking annoying???...

After all there are better ways to get people to signup especiually for a leading program, than to annoy the fuck put of 'em

Nope, never would. I consider the banner to be very impolite, a Zango-ish interruption in my visits to this board. Anyone who is that willing to abuse my attention here will likely do something equally as dumb later.

You get one chance to make a first impression, that the impression I get is a group of people willing to get in my face to try to get me to sign up. If their products are good and such, they don't need it.

if something annoys me, im not going to devote my efforts towards it..

If a company needs to do that kind of stuff to get my attention, I don't think they are right for me.

The banner actually scared the hell out of me a few times when my 7.1 speakers were 'on' and I was surfing peacefully and then suddenly.. ding ding..dang.. wtf?

Well, not necessarily because of the banner, but because of the relationship with xxxtoolbar and the trojans and malware it installs.

I could not figure out where the sound was coming from.... Then when I did, I knocked the guy out and at first thought I won something, once I found out I didn't win anything I was a bit disappointed...

I am turning of my ads now... I have a fresh format and havn't done that yet.. Thanks for reminding me! GFY rocks with out the loud ass banners :thumbsup

I didn't even know which company it was promoting until I saw it in another thread title. I just hit reload if I hear that stupid banner.

What site is it even for? I refresh instantly the 2nd it starts blasting loud noises and bells. Either way, they really should fire whoever created that stupid crap.

With that adblock thing can I block adds on certin sites? EX just gfy?

I have norton internet security and it blocks all ads... but I caan choose to show ads on a site if I want by clicking a button

At least the annoying flash banners of the past didn't play sound unless you moused over them...this thing starts fucking blaring the second the page loads, it's fucking insulting if you ask me.

I'm not saying I'd never do business with a company that tried a marketing gimmick like this...BUT...if after hearing all of the webmasters complain they still leave it up, then I know they don't give a fuck what webmasters want and I'll never send them a single click.

No, you'd think that the OTHER sponsors would talk to GFY about not allowing them since more and more people use adblockers to just block all of the GFY banners. The bad apples always ruin it for the others.

I'd love to unblock the GFY banners, as I like to see what people are promoting but not when the sound ones scare the shit out of me in the middle of the night.

I think the point was to get the attention. They did a great job by looking at the threads in here talking about them.

Well, I guess there are different ways to look at this. I dont think if I want to relax I would come to gfy.com and if I wasn't relaxing than I would come here for business maybe.....or talk to my fela webmasters. Than I guess it is ok to see a fucken annoying banner like that. Maybe I'm wrong.

Ya I agree,good point... cause of those stupid banners alot of us block ads & the other WM programs sufer....

to the point where eventually it would be pointless to even advertise on GFY then of course GFY will also start loosing money aswell...

In a long term perspective it would be more beneficial to everyone to NOT accept those type of ads that start playing on their own & blasting away without mouse hovering over
