you can't compare Curly and Moe to Trotsky and Stalin but some of those ideas, characters and situations .... yeah. How they butt raped evangelical Christians to gain power. A great novelist, and a great novel. I cant remember any of those rediculous animals names, but fuck was it an out there way of explaining the truth.

the same direction as the soviet union? meaning what? meaning that a well known criminal, previously exiled is going to start writing economic jibberish that has been proven wrong and impossible will blow back into town and try to stage a revolution, while the nation faces extreme poverty, economic collapse and after several disastrous military battles and smaller revolutions/protests causing the total and complete lack of confidence in the royal family, depose the royal family (ultimately executing them), seizing all property in the country, nationalizing all industry, jailing all political opponents... only to be succeeded by a murderous pyschopath who kills 40 million or so of his own people before taking over neighboring nations and starting the country down a path of a centrally, planned economy?

No kidding. I was thinking I read it in 1968.

Reading it as a school assignment totally ruined that book for me. We talked about it in class for almost six months.

read them in high school, have no idea what they are about, then take quizzes on who said what in each chapter.

I thought 1984 was the lamest book ever in high school, and I read it again last year (8 or 9 years later) and realized it's a jewel.

Same thing with Thoreau's Walden. I couldn't get past the 1st chapter in high school, now I read it like it's the freakin Bible.

One of the better books I've read. I had a potbelly pig that I named "Napoleon". We called him Nappy.

Yep, that's what you and Fox news would like to think, we're just flip sides of the same coin, but we're not. One of us is wrong on nearly every political question, and one of us is right, or close to it.

There are evil, wrong people, and there are people on the other side. Conservatives, particularly this mish-mash collection of every different philosophy they have going today -states rights, moral majority, neocons, southern bigots - are dangerous and wrong. Democrats are right.

key points to clarify again that you love to skip over just because i make fun of your mindless banter -
1) i have never voted in my life
2) i don't watch the news and haven't in an extremely long time.
3) i don't think i am right about everything. unlike you, i am somewhat rational and i realize and accept that there are two sides to every argument which is evidenced by the fact that an argument exists in the first place and i fully understand and accept that i can be right, you can be right, we both can be right and we both can be wrong.

Pick up 1942 from the same author if you really want to read something creepy.
