!!Problem with Police and Crime!!
 

I was watching the news last night and there was a story about street racers in my local town. There has been a death so far due to it and even more accidents. The reporter was interviewing a police officer about the problem. The officer went on to talk about it. At some point in the interview the reporter asked "What is the force doing to get more officers in the area so this won't happen again."..The officer replied "We're not trying to put any officers in the area. If we do this than they won't show up to race. We know about when and where they're going to do it so we have been thinking of ways to catch them.":eek7 ..Now I'm not a scholar, but shouldn't the focus be on preventing the crime rather than catching them in the act?!..I think this is a big reason why crime rates are what they are. I know everything can't be prevented but when your confronted with it, and admittingly don't even try, that's a big problem. Especially since the results of this crime have been fatal. What does everyone think?

If they patrol the area than the race would just be moved somewhere else. Possibly in a more populated area that could make it even more dangerous.
