My XPsp2 IE7 and firefox exit popup of death

The nickname for this script is "MC HAMMER"

Beats firefox , and ie7 with any combination of popup blockers you can throw at it.. google blocker yahoo blocker , nortons blocker icq blocker

Forewarning.. if you have a slow computer do not run this example.. as for example's sake i have chained a bunch together to show the page cannot be closed ( until 4-5 )

http://ytmnd.webspacemania.com/exit/

p.s. theres still a chance a few firefox users wont see it and ie users with wierd settings, this can only be expected amongst webmasters

moneybiz 03-13-2007 12:51 AM

how much for this?

sharp 03-13-2007 12:53 AM

haha nice..

EDepth 03-13-2007 12:56 AM

works for me and is annoying as all hell :)

notabook 03-13-2007 12:57 AM

I don't get any popups in Firefox on three different computers (two of which are default installations, 2.0.0.2). It does make IE open though from FF and it continues to create new tabs.

because ie is set to default browser, if firefox was default it would do it in firefox

Whats up with the add to favorites? is that how you're getting around something or is that just part of the aggressiveness? Just wondering if its needed or not.

I was wondering this myself.

FWIW it did not pop for me, but I'm running Firefox on Linux with Flashblock so not surprised... I still got the "thanks for visiting" box and an Add Bookmark prompt...

i assume you copied the swf file ( dont hotlink mine )

the swf file has a built in skim in it , i think that version has 1/100

i just built a new version for people to copy paste

http://ytmnd.webspacemania.com/mchammer.zip

( the swf in this version has a smaller skim 1/1000 )

copy the files to a folder edit the urls in the top of the stb.js

the variable mYs should be the folder the script is in

also edit the asx.php ( this is for firefox ) to point to your server.

if anyone needs just the flashloader custom coded so they dont have a skim i'll charge a smaller fee, if you need it customized then $50

can't touch this...:)

GrouchyAdmin 04-03-2007 03:54 PM

You've got an overflow possibility which is really trivial to trigger with an abort. Works under FF2.x, at least. Haven't tested others.

xroach 04-03-2007 05:25 PM

does nothing for me .. firefox 2.0.0.3, default settings on ubuntu breezy

Martin3 04-03-2007 05:38 PM

Works in IE7, in FF 2.0.0.1 I just get a loop of bookmark attemps and a thanks for visiting box, but no pop up

EdgeXXX 04-03-2007 05:47 PM

This is exactly why I run FF with NoScript active... :winkwink:
