Do you want icann to approved .xxx, lets vote here and get it out in the open...

Public poll...

Do you want .xxx to be approved?

Yes or no or don't care... That simple!

Forward this thread to everyone you so we have our own public record on how we feel..!

tical 03-14-2007 03:06 PM

Scootermuze 03-14-2007 03:13 PM

There are enough polls and opinions on here.... GFY isn't the place to make it count.. Take it to ICANN

vicki 03-14-2007 03:14 PM

nope, I don't want it ... although I'd like to see posts rather than a poll lol

The poll creates one solid public record on how we feel as a whole, and gets it out in the open...

GFY is where the industry meets! Not icann, so this is where it should be!

Once we have a good number of votes in then we take it to icann!

Have you seen some of the post that have been quoted on icann's board...

They are making us look bad...

At this point icann thinks most of the post they have are fakes posted by bots and fake emails..

This is the one way we can voice our view in public with no room for error!

mikeyddddd 03-14-2007 03:27 PM

Hellllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll, NO !!!!!

Jon Clark - BANNED FOR LIFE 03-14-2007 03:32 PM

Nice turn out so far...

but we need to keep it going...

Send this thread to everyone you know, please...

The more votes we get the more power it will have!

scarlettcontent 03-14-2007 03:36 PM

Nice thread Jon! GFY is the perfect place for this type of pole. :)

vicki 03-14-2007 03:40 PM

I understand your reasons and viewpoint but having a simple 'yes' or 'no' POST helps alleviate annons (or Stewarts minions *cough*) from trying to sway numbers of a poll

I must say, although I'm against the TLD I firmly believe EVERYONE (even those that might support it) have the right to have their voices heard.

Sorry, but ICANN isn't going to look at a list of forum nicknames as a, "solid public record" on anything..

If you want it solid, you're gonna have to have it look at least credible.. Joe schmuck with a tgp site will make little difference..

[name/company name/vote] might lend credence... with some formality to it..

ICANN isn't some sponsor wanting to know how many webmasters want rss feeds..

Our gfy nicks have more credit then the post on the icann board due to the fact that it has been publicly stated the people in our industry are gonna and have used fake emaill addy's and bots to post on there board...

Them post have lost there credit as of now and I am sure icann is not happy about it...

If this world polls have alot of weight across the board, they show true opinions... As this poll is public!

Jon Clark - BANNED FOR LIFE 03-14-2007 04:39 PM

Either way, this thread was not made to debate on if it will have any weight or not...

Just vote and bump it... Nothing else needs said...!

spacedog 03-14-2007 04:44 PM

Only an idiot would want .xxx

.xxx is nothing more than the pipe dream of a greedy scumbag

Jon Clark - BANNED FOR LIFE 03-14-2007 04:52 PM

Email I just sent to icann...

To whom it may concern,

My name is Jon Clark, I am agaist .xxx sTDL.

I own AffordableSiteDesign.com which is a graphic design firm that services mainly Adult Webmasters. All of my clients have expressed to me they do not want .xxx!

I also own NetDomainia.com and I do not plan to sign up as a .xxx registrar!

I also am a senior partner in the venture SurferBucks.com which is currently in development, we do not plan on using the sTDL if approved unless we are forced to by law!

Also, I have started a public poll on the forum GFY.com which carries the slogan "Where the industry meets!" This poll is public and it clearly shows there is a overwelming majority that does not want you to approve this sTDL. You can view and monitor the results via the link below,

Yo, this poll is not about finding people to blacklist...

Comments like yours can be tooken negitivly by icann and make them wonder who might opt out of voting for fear of retrubution...

Please everyone voice your true opinion even if the community does not agree... The thruth needs to be on record!

I personally will not blacklist anyone who votes in the poll no matter how they vote!

Nodtveidt 03-14-2007 05:42 PM

I do not support .xxx and never will. I may not be a big player in this industry but watch out...any one of us small fries can become the next kingpin and shake the foundations of the industry we represent.

I appreiciate your vote, but I am gonna tell you that this poll is not to find out who we should blacklist... It is to show direct from our community in public form that we do not want this sTLD approved!

On another note, icann has posted my letter and I am sure is watching this thread...
http://forum.icann.org/lists/xxx-icm.../msg01621.html

Lets keep things proffessional here and stay on the topic, which is this poll that clearly shows with no room for error that the majority of our community is against .xxx!

It already lost is professionalism with some of the replies..

And I think I would have waited before posting to ICANN for at least a few more posts in that you included this:
This poll is public and it clearly shows
there is a overwelming majority that does not want you to approve this sTDL.

If they do happen to look soon and see 8 or 10 votes, it'll probably just tick them off...

CyberHustler 03-14-2007 08:02 PM

For anyone who gives a shit, I voted "I don't care" honestly for shits and giggles, but I am 100% against it... :thumbsup

We had more then eight votes when I sent it... The reason I did not wait any longer is because we do not know when they will stop taking them emails..

I think that it shows that the people posting are actually HUMANS who give a damn about what happens to their industry.

Doctor Dre 03-15-2007 01:32 AM

Definitly not a good idea.

JamesK2 03-15-2007 02:19 AM

I dont want it to be approved, no.

c-lo 03-15-2007 06:59 AM

I agree with the overwhelming majority of adult webmasters..the XXX TLD is a terrible idea & I do not support it.

Thanks,
c-lo

basschick 03-15-2007 07:07 AM

the only thing that ICM offers with .xxx is another way of filtering - filtering which is already available. they also say they offer parent education, which can certainly be accomplished without a new TLD.

.xxx has no actual function, and there is no way it will actually help protect children. educating parents is the way to go - that, filtering and a .kids would do the job where .xxx has no actual function.

Murderous 03-15-2007 07:24 AM

Of course I put in my opposition, and voted no in the poll as well.

this board is as it is, you can't expect everyone to write an essay because someone from ICANN may read this thread

this thread does prove though - again - that the majority of adult webmasters is opposed towards .xxx

I remember a similar poll about .xxx one month ago, and the results were quite similar - about 90% opposed to .xxx

Now, in recent documents sent to ICANN, ICM claims that only 20% webmasters are opposed towards .xxx.

I hope ICANN can see throguh their lies and false claims....

And now a question to Mr Lawley, he won't reply, although he browses GFY...

If the recent Xbiz seminar wasn't representative for the adult industry... and if GFY - the biggest webmaster discussion board, isn't representaive either, then... what place/forum/trade show/institution/organisation would be repreentative for the adult industry?

Ah well.... the situation is as clear as it is.... the overhelming majority of adult webmasters are strongly opposed towards the proposed .xxx tld.

Not only we don't see any advantages in the proposal, we see a huge threat in it, for our businessses, for freedom of spech etc.

I could go on... but I said all these things a good few times already.

Degenerate 03-15-2007 09:06 AM

I really don't want it approved, but I had to vote that way 'cause I was feeling sorry for all the morons....

I am chauncy 03-15-2007 09:10 AM

I don't want it not just for what it will do to the adult business but the future repercussions

http://www.gfy.com/members/englishpatient/

Funny how he has no posts, but decides to vote Yes in our poll...

To everyone else, thank you very much for partisipating in this poll... It clearly shows with no room for error that the majority of our community does not want this sTDL approved

Gaybucks 03-15-2007 12:45 PM

Those of you who posted "I don't care" or "Yes" as a joke,

This is NOT A JOKE. We've already seen what Lawley does to spin anything he can twist to look remotely positive. I could see him trying to argue that 10% of the sponsored community supporting .xxx or being apathetic means there is enough interest that the domain should go forward.

I can't believe how unbelievably selfish or thoughtless it is to intentionally place a vote that doesn't honestly represent your feelings when so many people are working so hard to convey to ICANN what the community as a whole thinks. This is one of the few important threads on GFY, so please don't fuck it up.

Is it really worth the laughs you get to undermine what people are trying to do to defeat this?

Now... if you honestly believe that .xxx is beneficial and want it, then feel free to vote "yes." If you don't care or are undecided, READ ABOUT THE ISSUE before you vote. You won't be undecided once you understand how bad this could be for the industry.
