Mad at webair

It's time for a little public vent.

The last days have been hell with them.

1) I contacted them to fix a problem with a virtual include call in php. I can no longer include files with the virtual method (it was working before).
So two days ago I must find that my tgp script is no longer working. Checked the file permissions on the server and found that someone had changed all of them for that domain. The file ownerships and groups of my tgp domains are very delicately set up. It took me over an hour to restore all the changes I made, and I still get error messages from time to time.

2) It takes about two days before I hear back from them when I open a ticket!

3) More annoying: it seems that almost everytime the tech support is working on the server (that is restarting the server), the times change.
This causes a lot of trouble on my vbulletin forum.
I asked them to enter the date permanently some weeks ago (and they said they did!), but it has happened multiple times since then.

Is it too much for them to take a note of the time before they make configuration changes and restore it afterwards?

It seems their support consists of only a small handful of people who know their stuff - the rest is a bunch of amateurs. :Oh crap

DamageX 03-17-2007 02:02 AM

But hey, didn't you hear, you get more bandwidth and storage with their virtual plans! :thumbsup

darksoul 03-17-2007 02:05 AM

they don't need to adjust the time manually.
They can setup the server to sync the time from a time server
every reboot.

Webair is going downhill fast...

I'd choose godaddy or 1and1 before I would choose them...

I don't think you're intelligent enough to qualify for making an accurate statement on this one. However, do go ahead and piss yourself. :)

He's referring to a virtual include, not virtual plan.

Or was he?

This is not the first time a comment about how bad webair and how bad webairs suppor is. Other than the webair board spammers, the real story is usually that they are not really a good host and have slow peered bandwidth and very bad support. :2 cents:

I don't know where you heard that, but it's bullshit.

Downloading from my webair server I get about 800kb/s, that's more than I get from any other sites. Not to mention my webair server is already doing around 25mbps in transfer while i'm downloading.

There is online support chat 24/7 in the control panel area, it usually takes about 5 seconds to get a hold of someone via that. If it doesn't work, pick up the phone.

Vendzilla 03-17-2007 09:19 AM

I use a support ticket when it's minor, if I needed to get something done right away, Gerard has put up his icq for everyone to see, I have Mikes as well. The live chat systems works well, I've used it when helping webmasters set up comus.

webair 03-17-2007 09:48 AM

ichauch hit me up ill make sure your support issue is totally taken care of...please be sure to provide me with your userid and account info. In the future use our live chat or call in if you have an issue it will get handled much faster. Apologies for nay inconvenience rest assures if you contact me ill have it fixed for you immediately.

Thanks

Thanks boobs!

It's actually quite simple with the new technologies we have employed...all any client has to do log into their proprietary webair control panel, listed there on is your personal account rep upon login click his name and you can chat with him, or even simpler escalate the ticket.

Or call in 1.866.WEBAIR1
Or Live person chat support 24/7 via webair.com

:)

Webair is the bomb diggity, yo!

Pete-KT 03-17-2007 10:58 AM

We've been hosting for 3+ years at Webair with 5 servers and have never had a problem, How can u have a virtual account and use a forum and who knows what else, why not move yourself up to a dedicated and have a great server with excellent support. Ive been able to get excellent support at 5am and have things fixed. we've had 100% uptime since we started with them.

I tendz to agree...

It's usually da biggest and da best that get's slack from da ignorant.

me moms use to say dat anyhow.

I gots 8+ servers wit dese guys at webair all clusterd up and humming along makin bank for over a year nows. I gots server at most other hosts too. for da service and crew support i gets at webair nothing compares.

da guys dat have da time to bitch on dis board usally aint making no money anyways. Lesson here? Less talkin mackers and put your time into some constructives. Yappers = slakkers ya biddy!

:pimp

icymelon 03-30-2011 09:19 PM

webair is good. I usually just get someone on live support chat with them and it gets fixed. if that doesnt work then the account rep always gets it done usually just takes a icq message when they are at work

Man, what the fuck is wrong with you? Total dick move, bumping a 4 year old old support issue to spam another web host. :321GFY

Relentless 03-31-2011 05:15 AM

I have sites hosted with Webair and Gerard does an excellent job with all of them.
I also have sites hosted with NatNet and they do a terrific job as well.
I'm 100% sure NatNet thinks you are an idiot for bumping 4 year old drama threads.
They do not need your 'help' at all.

Moral of the story: Both hosts are excellent and you are an idiot.

HomerSimpson 03-31-2011 08:39 AM
