Buying Traffic To Increase Bookmarkers...
 

Is it a good idea to buy traffic for this sole purpose? Are the bookmark rates for purchased traffic a lot lower than most other traffic types? I've got about 1k bookmarkers on one of my sites...but they're really not growing that quickly...the numbers just seem to fluctuate on a daily basis...

I know this is a difficult question to answer, because what works for some doesn't work for all...but in your experience, has purchased traffic 'retained' decently for you? If so, roughly what % hangs around once the bought traffic has passed through? I'm guessing maybe like 1-2%...but I'd like to hear your numbers and perhaps of your preferred traffic source.

I've sent something 15k+ of trafficholder feeder to one of my sites over the past 3 months. I used a custom landing URL which means that after the traffic has finished I can track people who have bookmarked it.

In the past 24 hours, 8 (yes, eight) people have loaded that URL. :1orglaugh

Yup, similar experiences, you can buy a truckload of feeder traffic and with some luck, someone accidently bookmarks it, but the number of new bookmarkers is neglegtable.

Nothing bad about feeder traffic, but bookmarker wise not worth it imho.

Okay, so based on rowan's experience, it's looking like a bad idea. Trafficholder's traffic has never done well for me prod-wise, but then again no purchased traffic has really...I get the same amount of clicks out of 500 SE hits as I do with 10k of purchased traffic, no matter who I buy it from it seems... :(

You can get bookmarkers from buying traffic but it can be a bit tricky just in case you decide to try it here's a few tips I use.

Only every buy from a individual site do not buy general traffic you will waste your money if you are aiming for bookmarkers. Now what I do to gain bookmarkers is find a few sites that are in the niche I am interested in and first I try to set up a trade with them on another one of my sites and monitor the trade closely if I like the way the traffic works for my site I then buy a little traffic if it goes as expected then I will buy all the traffic available from that site until I get the desired result.

That is a very basic breakdown of what I do but IHMO the key is monitoring the traffic and finding a good source for your site but the answer is yes you can turn bought traffic into bookmarkers but do not just throw traffic at your site and hope for bookmarkers
