idea for paysite owners

Mail your contests to the active affiliates or all the affiliates but lots of us do not live on GFY to know when something new is in the works.

We do.

;-)

We always mail our affiliates because no doubt the biggest ones don't have time to read boards... :pimp

Bump for your idea.

newsletters are something that a lot of webmasters bitch about ... but if you don't want them, tell the sponsor and they will take you off of the mailing list. but we always send newsletters to keep affiliates updated on what is new and what is coming at least 3-4 times a month.

Usually contests are marketing gimmicks to attract new affiliates. If you're already sending you don't need to be baited in with a contest. :)

If I had a nickel for every sponsor that threw a contest with something like:

"$45 Fridays!"

I would have an aweful lot of pickles...

Many of them tell me something like, "Wow, we didn't notice THAT MUCH of a traffic increase on Fridays...?!?!"

And I am like, "Did you really expect any of the whales to switch out their codes like it is some kind of musical chairs contest business? They built RELATIONSHIPS with their sponsors!"

nothing wrong with covering all your bases...the boards reach new people which is never a bad thing but neither is ignoring your established affiliates

I usually write the same email as I post here...

What is worse is they give you two days notice. No one has that type of flexibility.
