Would you give up your US citizenship for $1M?

Hey US-based GFY'ers:

Would you give up your US citizenship for a million bucks?

Can move anywhere in the world.. but must renounce US citizenship, and obtain residency/citizenship of other country- permanently.

Max 30-days annual visitation to US.

blazin 03-20-2007 12:29 AM

Yes.... but I'm from the UK :)

collegegirlscash 03-20-2007 12:32 AM

Maybe this should have been a poll...

Lot's of yes's- even if your parents, siblings, etc. were in US?

96ukssob 03-20-2007 12:34 AM

$1mm is that much these days, but i would probably consider it. give the money to my parents to put away for my little brother when he gets older.

Agreed, wholeheartedly. But kids are a consideration, too, right? Isn't there a natural tendency for a US-based non-parent to want for their (future?) child to be a US citizen?

dRI-X 03-20-2007 12:47 AM

contact me and ill help you find a good place in my country, hehehehe

High Plains Drifter 03-20-2007 01:43 AM

Fuck no. Million bucks isn't all that much. Decades after the money is long gone and your ass is stuck in Tijuana? No way.

V_RocKs 03-20-2007 01:45 AM

In a heart beat....

V_RocKs 03-20-2007 01:46 AM

Honestly... I wish I was born in another country.

Then my money would go farther.

I was born in Southern California and my house costs $700,000....

I'd prefer to live in another country and pay $100,000 for the same house with more land... Get a cook, driver and a maid for $250 a month...

jscott 03-20-2007 01:55 AM

I will do it for free

I suspect that most faggots do...... although i guess its down to personal preference. Not all heterosexuals suck dick, so its absurd to presume that a faggot does.

Sarah_Jayne 03-20-2007 04:15 AM

no and I could have given it up when I became a British citizen but I would never have become British if the US didn't allow me to keep my American citizenship too. Now, I just get to be a citizen in two great countries.

bigalownz 03-20-2007 04:19 AM

quantum-x 03-20-2007 04:26 AM

Your post makes no sense if I am reading it right.
1/. From the 30 days you want to be a tax exile which means first $80k tax free earnings
2/. Giving up citizenship and being reduced to 30 days ?...the 30 days is a tax thing relating to residency.
3/. If this is related to online gambling it doesnt matter who or what passport you hold if you take bets from US.

I have lived offshore for years....if you want to state why I think many here could answer. Giving up US citizenship seems less than smart.

lalika 03-20-2007 05:52 AM

i would :)

bausch 03-20-2007 06:01 AM

Has anyone here ever applied for US citizenship while working as an adult webmaster promoting affiliate programs? They are quite detailed in their interview process, so I doubt just saying "internet marketing" will work.

I already know about setting up mainstream sites and then just saying "internet marketing"...

I still wonder if anyone here as ever gone through this process while working as an adult webmaster?

a1ka1ine 03-20-2007 06:05 AM

sounds a great deal!

Chris 03-20-2007 06:09 AM

Klen 03-20-2007 06:12 AM

I think anyone will accept that since living in America suck now. Also, with 1$ million bucks you can finance moving for your wife if you have it.

eink 03-20-2007 06:22 AM

some would do it even for 1000 bucks

Jman 03-20-2007 06:26 AM

That's a lill over 1 million canadian and the girls are beautifull here and they keep you warm, who wouldn't want to move...

This is a hard one but it is not like you would have to pick a shit hole. And a highly educated kid in a third world country does pretty good too.

Ummmmm Not all wives need "financing", some wives make more than their husbands/boyfriends. A lot more. And don't NEED money from their husbands/boyfriends.

Ross 03-20-2007 06:38 AM

I'm not from the US but if someone told me to do the same to the UK then I'd do it no problem. 30 days a year is enough time to spend with family and friends... plus they can always come and visit you as well.

You never know how you'll feel apart from your friends and familly in a foreign country. I always thought i'm cosmopolitan and can live whereevere i want, but having in mind that you can't return for a long time and you have to be in some other country.... so sad.
