venus 03-23-2007 01:37 AM

I am working on it now, I do not just write the processor, I DMCA everyone in his uplink, anyone who shows up as having anything at all to do with the website, its hosting, its DNS, payment...everyone. Then I start calling.

Give them a little time. The "problem" will solve itself. ;)

riddler 03-23-2007 03:51 AM

if they pull content directly from usenet there really isnt anything you can do..

usenet is protected by laws that as long as the servers do not touch the content by request they can not be sued or some shit like that.

Did you just wake up and find the internet today? I am sure that the info in question is publicly available.

PLUS... thieves should be outed and those that support thieves should be treated as thieves.

DamageX 03-23-2007 08:24 AM

That's an outrage! They're not promoting AFF!

You are 100% incorrect.

tony286 03-23-2007 09:09 AM

they are truly scumbags, in xbiz's women of adult or porn I forget the exact name they had the chick who posts on here and works for that scumbag company. A company that makes money off of content that they have no rights too is considered part of our industry, only in adult.

tony286 03-23-2007 09:13 AM

I just checked I cant believe ccbill processes them.

SiMpLe 03-23-2007 09:24 AM

You know, I have a very good question. Why hasn't someone sued the living shit out of them yet?

seeric 03-23-2007 02:34 PM

you know damage, the problem is that they allow user submitted stuff, however they are the ones making the money for the subscriptions through a loophole to which they pay nothing to those content providers via the users uploading materials illegally.

a simple tos addition prohibiting members from distributing content in any form or fashion would be enough to make it so. if members are prohibited from taking said copyrighted materials then maybe you got something

it takes the industry uniting to go after them and get your shit out of their network by no one sending them traffic. unfortunately many people will send them traffic to make money and not support the content producers. ruining their image is about the only thing you can do unless you try some sort of class action or is someone gets wiley and ddos the shit out them, which i want no part of anything illegal. doing something illegal against something illegal doesnt make me feel vindicated.

close - but the real issue with guba is they are merely a simple and easy to use frontend to certain allowable newsgroups. Can't sue, they aren't doin the hosting - their just a newsgroup provider... and that's been a gray area since it's creation. :helpme

Actually, you CAN sue. They are clearly profiting from giving users access to content which is being used without the copyright holders' authorization. Get a few sponsors/content producers to band together, hire a few slick lawyers and GUBA is history.

if a few people with content on there DMCA and make abuse reports ccbill WILL stop processing them, i am VERY confident in that. don't ask me why, but i just know :)

ccbill rocks.

if were talking the same GUBA here, that shouldn't cover them... last i checked in on their scammy operation they were pulling content from the usenet and actually re-encoding it on the fly to different formats for download by their users, so the data was definitely hitting their servers and not just pointed to..

:2 cents:
