ICANN to File Suit Against RegisterFly

http://www.xbiz.com/news_piece.php?id=20812

LOS ANGELES ? Frustrated by RegisterFly operators? failure to provide registration data to ICANN officials, the Internet policymaking board has decided to file suit seeking a restraining order against the domain registrar, XBIZ has learned.

ICANN plans to file suit Thursday in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles because it had increasing concern that the domain registrar?s customers would be ?irreparably harmed? if it did not provide all of the requested data, as well as rolling updates every two days.

Good. The owners of that company should never be allowed to operate in the domain industry again. Fuckers.

About fucking time.

Registerfly is a total cluster fuck. Most people can't renew domains or move them away. The reason ICANN is suing them is so they will stop holding the domains hostage.

Luckily I was able to move all my names out of there, but a lot of people haven't been so lucky.

Interesting timing considering a class action lawsuit was filed today against ICANN as well as RegisterFly.

http://www.dnjournal.com/lowdown.htm

I guess ICANN is now in "cover our ass" mode.

I wonder how this will influence a vote on .XXX tommorow if one takes place.

I think if ICANN approves .XXX they are going to have to be dismantled. There is no way in hell they can fight the fallout from Registerfly on top of handle multiple class actions and seperate lawsuits fom the adult industry, free speech groups and religious nutjobs. Look at how fast they caved to Verisign a few years ago.

They stand a better chance voting it down now and fighting Lawley in court where he can perjure himself a couple hundred times.

You know, considering these domains are virtual property and don't even exist other than electronically on a screen, its a huge crock of shit that this is even going on.

I hope the people at ICANN get fucked too. Seriously. Its fucking virtual property and these people can't even get a hold on it. What would happen if it was actual real estate property and the records got all screwed up?? I can't imagine.

This proves how incompetent ICANN really is.

more like ICANT
