One day a mega tsunami will wipe out Eastern US

The Bad News

"Scientists predict that it will generate a wave that will be almost inconceivably destructive, far bigger than anything ever witnessed in modern times. It will surge across the entire Atlantic in a matter of hours, engulfing the whole US east coast, sweeping away everything in its path up to 20km inland. Boston would be hit first, followed by New York, then all the way down the coast to Miami and the Caribbean."

The Good News

Since I live in the Canaries, when it happens I will know of it about 4-5 hours before you guys and post it on GFY, giving you enough time to head inland to safety.:thumbsup

Hope it don't happen anytime soon, considering I live right on the coast.

The beach is right across the street.

New study suggests this won't happen for 10,000 years

My wife is already getting concerned about "all these tsunamis we've been having lately" (rolling eyes)

I reassure her that we live 25km inland, and 250 metres above sea level... and if we did happen to be in the city (which is on the coast) that we probably have at least a few hours warning...

Being situated just off the coast of north west Africa, the islands are kinda like the Florida of Europe, with many Europeans (mainly Brits & Germans) coming here in the winter, where tempratures are still warm.

In Summer (mainland) Spaniards come here to cool down a bit since Madrid & Co. can get unbearably hot.

Food in best compared to Spanish food (these are Spanish Islands)

If ever you come here, LMK and I will be happy to show you around:winkwink:

If you are interested in renting a a villa with WIFI access, check out www.working-holiday.ws :thumbsup
