Joomla?

Who here uses Joomla for their sites? I'm trying to get a feel for template creation with it. Post a link to your site if you use it.

I do, I use it to build sites daily and I am a developer for Joomla

www.craigslistxxx.com is one of my joomla sites.

psychomantis 04-04-2007 12:26 PM

Do you have any sites that are up and functional that I can see?

Check out:

http://joomlajunkie.com

Some nice themes with lots of features that you can get access to and learn the ins and outs with. Worked great for me.

BlackOpsMedia.com

All Joomla.

It's a little quirky, and this site is brand new, but so far so good.

You did a nice job with that one DWB.

Yeah man, you really did. Props. Anyone else?

I'm actually working on a new site layout that will use Joomla.

I'm converting a existing TGP into something new and the only way I could do it, is to go with a CMS. So I'm using Joomla.

The site will end up using multiple scripts though. I will use Joomla for the main content managment, but will also use comus to generate some of the HTML I will have on the site on various pages. I'll also be using Arylia to build my galleries.

The site I'm building will be diffrent from any other adult free sites, as I'm talking the best from mainstream, TGP and babe logs and mixing it into a new style of site. So I dunno what I can call it other than a content driven portal site.

One thing I'd stay away from is having it do too many page requests on script generated pages. That is if you plan on having much traffic on the site, use as many static pages as you can.

I've got a bunch of Joomla sites. I am developing catdump.com right now. I also recently created contexaclick.com.

Joomla rocks!

:thumbsup

The one thing about Joomla that I don't like, is sometimes the template that you have can cause your mambots or mods not to work correctly. This is a real pain in the ass, so if for some reason you can't get something to work, chage over to the default template to check it out. It seems everything works in that.

speaking of joomla anyone here good at converting design for it? I have my layout for the most part done but I hate converting the templates.
