The only real solution to 2257, sponsors step inside too
The only solution that is going to work is all sponsors need to provide all affiliates with sanitized docs and/or use only softcore content that is 2257 exempt for affiliates to use for promotion. It's as simple as that. Yes, it's easily said but it will take a little bit of time to protect affiliates.

I'd have to agree with the "sanitized docs" idea but to cut U.S. webmasters off at the knees by only letting them have access to softcore material wouldn't be the best answer to this I think with the minds in this industry if we WANTED to we could manage something better.
Lets hope sponsor programs can see that the U.S. webmaster doesn't deserve to suffer in needless ways. It is hard enough to make sure all our ducks are in a row without having to find/remove any custom materials made by sponsors, FHG's, RSS feeds and so on... |
Softcore content for US webmasters would only be if they choose not to provide docs. Honestly, I prefer to use softcore on my site because I like to keep hardcore for paying members. But I think sponsors really need to start using both options.

only takes 1 sponsor to do so, and the domino affect can happen.
affiliates would most likely promote that program in feeling they will be better covered in being 2257 compliant, and may drop those that give them the liability exposure. Fight the ripple effect! |
The real solution to 2257 is Europe ;-p

I think that we might find if we were to leave a little to the imagination of the surfer, we might see a jump in sales. I see so many galleries with cum shots and everything that it is amazing.
Personally I find clothed women more sexually appealing now. |

I have a feeling I'll be removing some sponsors over all of this.

Maybe I should become a lawyer then, hahaha. Just kidding. It is the best solution in my opinion and the lack of responses from sponsors is actually quite discouraging.

FHG is a good method for affiliates to use to promote a sponsor since they don't have to worry about 2257. The concern is over banners and images provided to affiliates from sponsors that affiliates use on their own sites. a side plug, affiliates should label their site with ASACP's RTA (restricted to adults label) found for free of use at http://www.rtalabel.org Fight the plug! |
I have a question, if we use softcore pics from a series, but the series has hardcore pictures, do we still need docs or no?

I believe so. Sponosors will either have to use samples frm a softcore set or give us sanitized docs.

2257 requires the performers real name be cross-referenced with her aliases and the scene. So, depending on your definition of "sanitized", that either isn't going to protect the models, or isn't going to fulfill 2257.
|
Then they should go the softcore route for affiliates

They will have to use only softcore sets. allot a few sets to only use for promotion. Might have to shoot additional content but it will really help affiliates.
