MORTON, Illinois (CNN) -- At 8 o'clock on a recent Saturday morning, more than 250 men gathered at New Life Christian Church in Morton, Illinois, for a breakfast of porn and pancakes.

The event, not as titillating as it sounds, is the brainchild of Craig Gross, founder of the online Christian ministry, *********.com. Gross concocted the idea of "Porn & Pancakes" as a way to get Christians and church officials to talk about pornography addiction.

It's a problem, he said, that is growing, among Christian communities.

Over the smell of maple syrup and sausage, Gross and other guest speakers -- including a former producer of pornography -- talk to the men about how pornography negatively affects their lives, including relationships with their families and with God. The men who come to hear them speak want to make sure they don't develop a problem themselves.

"A lot of people think Christians sure don't struggle with this," Gross said. "The stats don't lie: Christians are consuming pornography. And to me, it's not a surprise."

A nonscientific poll on *********.com found that 70 percent of Christians admitted to struggling with porn in their daily lives. Church officials are not immune either. According to Gross, some 76 percent of pastors he surveyed said they, too, have a problem. Gross says he's not surprised so many Christians find themselves struggling with addictions to pornography, considering just how mainstream and easily accessible it has become.

With some 4.2 million pornographic Web sites to explore, many Christians find themselves unable to turn away.

I think that the church makes about 10 times that in the same period.

I don't know one person that "struggles with porn" beyond modifying CSS or a buggy script

God forbid they ever do this in my area, I will be there handing out cards, and telling where the best porn is.

I will also have a few things to say about thier bible and their god, with proof to back it up.

The one they had in my area, really wasn't. We're a city/county with about 1 million people. This was out the most backwoods part of this area...in another county. 60 miles drive at least from the Airport. VERY rural. I believe it was the first breakfast event they had. I'd be interested to know what type of numbers they got.

The Christian culture is one of demonizing your own natural impulses as a way to make you constantly feel guilty, as a way to constantly keep you under the umbrella of "sin", and so if you label what is natural as evil, then you will always keep the masses dropping coins into the coffers and confessing to fatherly figures.

Adult paysites and churches are one in the same. They're both looking for conversions to make some money, but at least the adult industry is honest about it.

Christians are some of the biggest porn freaks out there. I know this by talking to my church going Christian friends... And listening to them talk about porn, sex, women etc etc... Church & organized religion is all about power, money & control...

Actually, there is a nun scat movie out there. It's from the infamous Thaur Experiment X series, and it's fucking gross. But no doubt, it's probably converting well, I've drive by Thaur's house in Berlin about a year ago, and it looks like a million bucks .
