This is a poll to gather up all the U.S. based webmasters out there to find out what, who you are and what sites you represent.

Also what you intend to do if this new 2257 law does go into effect what you will be planning on doing??

Are we selling?
Are we switching to text?
Are we conforming?

If you dont for personal reasons want to give out your sites list like me the just state the amount of years you have been doing this and common area you are from.

I.E.

I am Bloomer I run over 600 TGPs/blogs and have been in bizz since 1992
I am on the East coast of the country.
I do not intend on moving at all I will comply to the new law if it goes through and stay right where I am in the United States the true home of porn and sexy ass bitches.

There is nothing new about 18USC2257 it is the law. You need to be in compliance already so best to get to work on it now.

My sites are mostly text expect for a few thumbs I keep at the top... other then removing those...I'm compliant. But nothing is for certain yet.

Name a few TGPs you run that someone here might recognize...

Could not agree more that there are more "unprofessionals" around here than otherwise. Most of em are kids with computers who have nada clue of the adult industry and who would piss their frilly panties at the thought of an obscenity trial - and often with ambitions exceeding their potential.

But.. there are actually folks around who do have more than a clue - some may be relatively new, others old-hands. I'll give ya a "medium" range if you have been in this biz since 92 - tho you missed the best years.

For a guy who runs 600 ish sites and in this biz for over a decade and a half, the questions you ask are kinda puzzling Tho 600 sites means little, - they can be auto generated in a week, - it's the experience angle that is more interesting :pimp

Yes its called reverse phycology and it works well in bringing out peoples true nature as you have seen if you want to find out more about who is in this business and what they are all about just follow around my posts and you will see it in action for it is not the lack of experience that I myself possess but rather the approach many have to the way I represent.

Some may call it a waste of time since ya should have a clue about who is in this biz and who are the sponsor fodder and the spam trolls hoping for referrals.

Gotta say this is the last place I'd be asking basic questions on laws - I'm sure you got a lawyer for that??

I'll keep doing what I'm doing because I have an attorney and I comply with all laws that I should. As far as the new-ish laws which have been manipulated recently I'll just have to make sure that the sponsors which I use actual content from will let me have access to the documents if the time actually comes. (Which isn't many sponsors at the moment, and they shouldn't mind being that I generate significant sales with them.)

Hi can someone tell me what if you live outside the USA but host in the USA ....will that still get you in trouble?

What makes you american based? Is that just server location or domain company? Or you have to be a US resident?

If you are either living in the US or operating a business within US territory, - it would normally be fair to say you are "US based" and would be obliged to comply with US laws.

The location of the server is another element. If you contravened a law (eg obscenity law) in a country where your server was based, it is possible that country may be interested in prosecuting. However, in reality, unless any offense is an "extraditable offense" and assuming you are not a US citizen, it is most probable that this would not happen. The most that may happen is that your server would be closed down.

If you are not resident within the US or a US citizen, there is no reason to have hosting within that country or pay any attention to it's laws. It simply does not make sense to operate within an undesirable environment for an adult business.

I actually don't accept traffic from yours and other countries for just those reasons. And by you being an adult webmaster in the country where you live, you should ask yourself that same question, but you obviously know that answer.

BOTTOM LINE: If you do business with US citizens you have to abide by all US laws.

Truly amazes me how many people here run their business and haven't done as much as simply reading the laws...let alone abide by them.
