The REAL reason not to get engaged....
So it's 2 1/2 hours before my fiancee is flying home for the Easter weekend (where she's going to show off her new engagement ring to her family for the first time).
I'm awakened by a shriek. She dropped her engagement ring down the sink. The piping under the sink is solid plastic, so there's no easy way to remove the trap. I make about 30 frantic phone calls and find a plumber who gets here 1 1/2 hours before her plane leaves. He uses a saw to cut the piping so we can get the ring out, and then reattaches it - it takes about half an hour. I get her to the airport 1/2 hour before her flight leaves - she makes the flight by 3 minutes, only because of a 10 minute technical delay. And the rest of my day is ruined. Anyone else thinking about getting engaged? :1orglaugh |
Don't you just love when things go wrong?:Oh crap

Sounds like it went well, actually:
-you got the ring, it didn't go past the trap -she made her flight with no additional bullshit or cost -she's out of your hair for the long weekend Whats not to like? |

Once she's back, wait until she's asleep and then crazy-glue it on her finger.
That'll fix her. :D |
You're even more of a hero to her now. Whenever she gets all over your case in the future, just remind her how you sacrificed to save that ring that represents your union.
