Many months ago I offered to provide full audit files to ANY sponsor running a contest thread. Including IP tracking to show that there are sometimes 5 to 10 users who only post in these contest threads and are on the exact same IP.







To date, I have only been hit up twice for these files. :Oh crap

I cant believe this still is going on. Sponsors giving away 1000's to fucking surfers running bots while real hardworking webmasters arent even checking those threads. Very retarded.

Well, duh, sponsors don't give a shit who wins, bots or real people - they're paying money either way. All they care about is how long the threads hang on the first page for.

If you allow such bullshit contests then you should also moderate the users/bots. Otherwise they turn this board into shit.

My eyes just skim past posting contest threads... As soon as a thread has been on the front page for more than 3-4 days I ignore it completely.

I thought the GFY rules stated no fake user names.. While I can understand letting some stay that don't cause any trouble. These bots on the other hand do nothing positive for the users of this forum.

So if you know they are on the same IP, why don't you do something about it?

btw I'm another webmaster whom never clicks a contest thread, because of the bots..

when you must send to the sponsor at least same $ in sales as your prize is, that mean you must do more than post here. it can get people more in work and less bots will be posting here :2 cents: but its about advertising i forget

I dont understand how sponsors make money running these contest I sure as hell dont read any contest that dosent have some type of webmaster skill needed to win it.
