Just curious, I am a late bloomer.

I have come close to mastering Trillian and now people wanna hit me up on skype...

Yeah. But only for speach. I got one of those voip phones that hooks up directly to the router. Works wonders.
For chat, it's all icq.

Skype is great, especially because I prefer talking to people instead of typing...much easier to do business this way in my opinion.

I use it. It's amazing. I use it mainly to talk to TheDirtyWhiteBoy who is either in Thailand, Hong Kong, Japan, Kentucky or Brazil on ANY given day we can talk virtually anywhere in the world for free.

The only IM's I keep up all day are Yahoo, and normally ICQ. But I still use AIM, and Skype depending on what I am doing. I like Skype, but there doesn't seem to be a lot of US people on there yet.

AIM I only really use to talk to models. A lot of the 18-25 crowd all are still on the AIM.

I use it as a side program. It has encrypted messaging, and that is nice. It also has skype to skype phone calling on your puter

I've been using Skype for about 18 months and not a single issue. We use it on all our company computers (7 right now) for our inter office IM because there is no text limit like ICQ and for the free international phone call features. The reception is excellent.

Skype is free and one of the better internet communication tools. I give it :thumbsup :thumbsup :thumbsup :thumbsup :thumbsup

We use Skype for all our internal company communication and have saved thousands in phone bills is the process.

Also, the IM element of skype is better that ICQ with better emoticons and no annoying guitar riffs everytime someone has a birthday - and 3 way chats are also possible.:thumbsup

I've been an active listener of the board for years. This is my first posting (I feel excited like a virgin) to chime into this thread.

I use personally Yahoo; however use Trillian for Yahoo/ICQ/AOL/MSN for business crap --- If they added Skype, sure I'd sign up. I just don't want to add another software to run every day on the computer!

One thing abt skype. All conversation from day 1 is being captured under history. I have no idea how to delete it. I have been using it since early 2006. Best not to send login infos or cc numbers on it. It is good though!

Well, I have Skype, but I don't use it. It has a much better sound than MSN.

It is also the only instant messaging program that encrypts all instant messages being sent over the internet.


Unfortunately this industry revolves around ICQ so I need to have that dinosaur installed as well.

If only the industry would replace ICQ with skype :)
